I am joined by Jess, Jake, India, Emilia and Rose and we are ripping the Met Gala 2022 looks to absolute shreds. For those that don’t know what the Met Gala is, It is an event held in New York at the Metropolitan Museum of Art to raise money for the museum. However, this isn’t just any ol’ gala, it is one of the most prestiges red carpet events in the fashion calendar whereby Anna Wintour selects a theme and guest list of A-list celebrities. It involves the celebrities one by one walking the red carpet and climbing the stairs of the museum to shake Wintour’s hand. The guests then get to partake in a private viewing of the exhibition, have a Michelin star dinner and enjoy a performance by a special guest (none of this however is televised or streamed). Fashion-lovers all over the world tune into the live-stream of the red carpet to see how each celeb interprets the theme and who shines as the kind or queen of the Met!

This year, the them was America: An Anthology of Fashion. But, more specifically it focused on the Gilded Age as it was addressed as a white-tie event. With a bottle of tequila, scoresheets and a projector-screen, I held a Met Gala viewing party to judge, scrutinise and praise the best and worst looks. Putting 6 fashion students in a room and asking them to pull apart each look is chaotic but I thought you might want to grab a glass of pinot and join us in our hyper deliberation of this years looks.
