Terrible audio…very annoying, this has made this podcast very difficult to listen to.Juicejack

The only thing not realistic is coal burning cabooses. Cabooses just tagged along with a train ,but, never power some the train. Otherwise, The show is great. Also, I think conrail came sooner then 1976. I have a question. When did the B30-7 come out?

Every few months, for 5 years now, I'll go back and give this one another try. But it's actually painful to listen to it, due to the horrible audio. The amateur hosts can be forgiven, due to the nature of such things, and they are no worse than any other podcast hosts who aren't professional, but do it for the love of the topic. But, they obviously don't care about having decent audio after 5 YEARS! Yes, it's truly painful.

As a railway industry insider even I walk away enlightened from some of the news and information I pick up on this podcast. It had the potential to be something really good. There are a few major issue though. First of all the shows need to be edited. On the last episode in Topeka there where periods of dead silence several times, one lasting about three or four minutes after a dropped call. Also the wind was drowning out the already hard to hear voices, for most of the episode. That and due to missed guests the must have spent a good 1 hour plus, filling in with small talk that went around in circles. I also think the need to realize that at perhaps nearly 2 hours an episode is a bit too long, and they just don't have that content to fill it. So show hosts, please edit and make the shows shorter!!!'

I have listened to several episodes, and there has been very good information, but I have to continually change the volume cause it goes quite and then loud, it is very apparent there is no editing of the podcast, for example the audio just disappeared for several minutes and finally he came back on saying there was technical difficulty, that should have been cut out. again no editing and poor audio, and it appears its handed off to different people to do the show, and some people do the show from their car, just very unprofessional audio results from this and the lack of editing... But give it a try... there is some good topics.

I've had a lifelong interest in trains, so when I came across this podcast, I thought, "Gee, another one I ought to check out," so I subscribed. Of all their episodes available on iTunes, I'm still working my way through the FIRST one. It's not for a lack of content, but the manner in which it's presented, along with audio that leaves much to be desired. Compared to other, "amateurish" trains-related podcasts I listen to, the audio is awful: I get the impression the speakers are either using low-quality mikes or are further from the speakers than they should be, or both. There are other railroad-themed podcasts available, which I'd recommend in lieu of this one.
