I think I have listened to every episode (some multiple times). Filip is great at presenting dense information in a way that is accessible and entertaining. I have a major in religious studies, but I think I have learned more from Filip’s show (with the help of a few other religious studies content creators) than I have in my degree. This show will be especially enlightening for anyone interested in Islam and/or mysticism. I would encourage anyone who enjoys a particular episode to dive into the sources he lists in the description. Most of them can be found for cheap or free online, and will deeply enrich your understanding of the topic. Filip helped open my eyes a bit to the beauty found in the Islamic tradition. Before, I thought of it as being barbaric, simple, and essentially consisting of a bunch of rules. Now I know better. Thanks Filip!

Knowledgeable and non-judgemental. Those are two words tou can use to describe this show, but they’re sadly two words you don’t often hear when people talk about religion. The topics are a bit heavy on Islam-related topics, but as Filip explains, that happens to be his area of academic expertise.

Appreciate your evenhandedness and willingness to look at the topic through a more decolonized lens. Love the intro/outro music. Looking forward to more coverage and explanation of doctrine, in addition to the history you do well. Consider, in the future, including brief interview snippets with scholars whom you cite (to get additional depth).
