Let's Talk About It
Let's Talk About It
In Focus Church
We discuss topics that have been traditionally marginalized and silenced within the Church, specifically surrounding the ideas of Social Justice. With a heart to see God’s kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven, we believe one of the ways we work towards that is by striving to create a more just and more loving world around us. The conversations we have are not exhaustive, but they are a foundation for a life of love and justice.
Rediscipling The White Church (With David Swanson)
In this conversation with Pastor & Author David Swanson, we talk about the ways the white church needs to be rediscipled, why it's necessary, and how it would work. David Swanson is the Pastor of New Community Covenant Church in Chicago, IL, as well as the author of the book "Rediscipling The White Church." We believe that if you allow your heart to be soft and fertile soil, these words will grow you into someone who is working to be disciples and make disciples that love Jesus and follow his commands. What is “Let’s Talk About It?”
In this episode, Karla & Kēvin give us an overview of why we are doing "Let's Talk About It" as well as why justice matters in the earth. If the church has traditionally neglected working against injustice, how do we change that? What do we need to learn? How can we grow? Not all of these questions are answered in this episode, but a groundwork is laid for what is to come.
