This episode was recorded on a Monday in April 2022 while Gerina was in bed reflecting on a morning devotional. Join her as she applies the devotional to her life in her season of healing while she unpacks the lessons that can be drawn from it. We'd like to invite you to listen to a recent recording from Gerina as she reflects on where she is now over a year after this recording. She acknowledges that some of her stagnancy in growth was due to a lack of accountability (the group she referred to was disbanded a few months after the recording and distractions with the new year). She is back to doing the work and is glad there was also growth from this episode regarding response times and slight awareness.

This episode was recorded in April 2022; Gerina Jade' speaks about the idolatry of self-image, adultery, sinning against her conscience, and forgiveness. In no way does she mean to cast a negative light on any of the parties involved instead wants to highlight the reflection she has had about herself and her experience. Gerina's point of view has shifted, and she does not view the situation 100% the same as this was recorded over a year ago, and she has continued to heal and receive revelations about her situation since. Recorded April 9, 2022, Gerina once again finds herself in the Old Testament, intrigued by the stories and the lessons the Holy Spirit highlights to her. Gerina was able to extrapolate four points: Anointed while Waiting Preparation for Position Stewarding your Position How Power can corrupt the ill-prepared She hopes the story of King Saul will be listened to and taken seriously.

Gerina Davis is back with part 2 of mental health and the intersection of spirituality. The beginning and end are regular recordings from 2021; however, the 11 minutes she speaks about narcissism were recorded in 2023 due to technical difficulties. Gerina attempts to encourage people to understand the harm the over-labeling of narcissists can do to people. She believes a person can be delivered from that condition if it is an extreme spirit of pride. Gerina is clear that this condition, in its moderate to a severe form, is VERY harmful. So she is not requesting that people that have encountered narcissists stay with them or to help them but instead pray for their deliverance and that they seek help from a therapist who is blessed with the skills and has experience with those with Narcissistic Personality Disorder.  Click here for one of the articles being referenced.

This was recorded May 11, 2022. Gerina Jade' was reading Exodus 13, and it inspired her to question if people were addicted to slavery or the things that ensnare them due to seeking temporary comfort versus living in a state of freedom. She briefly explores this question by looking into the social justice context, her personal life, and the Christian walk.

For #ThrowbackThursday, Gerina Jade' wanted to share a recording she made on December 5, 2021. Due to the spiritual atmosphere, current experiences, and things she has heard and observed, she felt it was a good time to drop this episode. Gerina Jade was going through some battles and was inspired by the Holy Spirit to discuss this topic, leading her to read some passages.  See if you can follow along with her process as she attempts to form a semi-theory on the intersections of mental health, spirituality, and how it is treated in Christian culture.

This episode was recorded on May 22, 2022. Gerina Jade' begins to work through the concept of forgiveness by starting with forgiving herself. She learns that to forgive herself; she needs to quiet the critical voice that accuses her and replace that voice with the Holy Spirit's guidance.  She brings in examples from the show, "Jane the Virgin," and lyrics from a musical artist to paint the picture of what she takes place inwardly.

For Flashback Thursday, we will release episode #7 for Season 1, which was recorded on November 14, 2021 (We know...we know). In this episode, Gerina Jade' attempts to answer whether she is ashamed of the gospel and church culture or the fear of being rejected due to bearing the name of Christian due to others with that name hurting others or not being accepted by others being set apart. She attempts to answer the questions by sharing snippets of her church history and spiritual journey.
