I’m hooked
I’m a director. I’ve listened to a lot of film making podcasts. This has been the most valuable podcast I’ve had the pleasure of listening to by far. I’m addicted. The stories, advice, and tactics for improving your craft and navigating the industry have ignited my passion by throwing gas on a fire that will burn brighter as an obsession. Pete’s voice is smooth as butter and puts me at ease. I hope the absolute best for you Pete and just know what you do I appreciate very much.

Awesome Podcast on Directing
This show and the host Pete Chatmon are AWESOME! As an older, and still emerging, filmmaker, Iʻve been listening to other filmmaking podcasts for a couple years now and Let’s Shoot w/ Pete Chatmon is my favorite! So much valuable information and life lessons from Pete and all the guests he has in to talk story.
As a director with a couple short films under my belt, looking to break into television directing, aiming to direct my first feature, and writing projects to do both, Iʻve learned so much from this podcast that I know will help me now and in the future.
Even with all the valuable information from Pete’s guests, the thing I like most are Peteʻs stories of perseverence through all the success, failures, unmet expectations, and other challenges (on set and off set) that are part of every filmmakerʻs path and the lessons learned. These are life lessons, not just filmmaking lessons, he shares are priceless.
Awesome podcast! Keep it up. Mahalo

Get Pete’s Book!
The podcast is dope… but don’t sleep on Pete’s book that also combines many of the things we have heard him say over the years on this platform. Transitions is a fantastic read and supportive book for nearly any creative. Of course directing being the focus, but what a great autobiography that gives a picture of what your directorial life can look like in so many different facets. Along with tips, anecdotes, humor, and encouragement that I personally have witnessed in person. Get this book if you want some direction as you navigate this artistic roller coaster we have signed up for.

Inspirational and Informative
As a screenwriter and film lover, this podcast has proven invaluable. Each episode moves along at a conversational pace, touching on a wide range of topics and personal anecdotes from the business. The guests have been a surprising mix of actors, showrunners, producers, and writers—I can’t wait to see who pops up next. A lovely treat has been Pete’s ability to go beyond subjects of the business (though it’s emphasis on storytelling is wonderful) he covers far more than your average industry podcast. Regardless of your position in or out of Film/TV, this podcast provides incredible insight.

A Must Listen for Filmmaking Creatives
Pete Chatmon’s new podcast on the entertainment industry “Let’s Shoot!” is hands down some of the realest most practical and accessible filmmaking advice you’ll find anywhere! Pete and inaugural guest, Theo Travers (Writer and EP-“Billions”) gave away a $1M of “game” for free, so I can only imagine what's to come with guests like Issa Rae and others coming up! (It’s so educational and real that I almost don’t wanna tell everyone about it, but how could anyone not put other people down with this podcast when fellow creatives share so much game so honestly and generously?!) This is not at all your standard film set stories podcast, but a deeper dive into real-world practical, social and political aspects of navigating people and situations on film sets and building a career in the industry. #MustListen

Pete continues to share industry gems
This is an excellent podcast that I highly recommend for all filmmakers especially aspiring and emerging: writers, directors, and producers. I’ve known Pete for a while, and to see him continue on his journey as a filmmaker has been very insightful and inspiring. The fact that he’s willing to share his experiences along the way and tell us some of the secrets he implements in his TV directing career is definitely helpful to a fellow filmmaker like myself. Since there is no standard book on how to make it as a filmmaker in the entertainment industry, it’s helpful to hear the struggles, challenges, and best practices from someone who’s been there and done that. I’m looking forward to listening to future episodes. Keep killing it Pete!
