Let’s See a Movie is a show dedicated to the car ride to and from the movie theater. The anticipation of stories that are about to be told, and the reactions immediately after. We’re not exactly professional movie critics by any stretch of the imagination, but we are people who genuinely love movies. So, what you’re about to experience is an unscripted, uncut, conversation between two people just before and right after seeing a movie (in this case: Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse). And, yes, there are spoilers! Don’t say we didn’t warn you! Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse is an animated film that most definitely takes place in the Sony Spider-Man cinematic universe. Overall, the film legitimately makes you feel as though you’re watching a comic book brought to life. Every element of the movie was good, I had a very hard time finding something wrong with it. You get emotionally invested in the story and the characters, the jokes we’re actually laugh-out-loud-out-loud funny, and the action had me at the edge of my seat. ALL THE CLICHES! Don’t say we didn’t warn you! This time around, Kolin and Sarah see Deadpool 2 from Marvel but not Marvel. Overall, we enjoyed the movie for what it is: a sequel. There were A LOT of good bits in the movie, there’s no doubting that, but I feel as though there weren’t many longer portions of the movie that were good. If that makes sense. The overall storyline is very heartwarming, and it turns out to really be a family sort of film. It does say something, though, when the general consensus is that the mid-credits scenes are the most Deadpool scenes. Personally, I think Deadpool 2 was more of a movie about Wade Wilson than Deadpool, we saw more into the depth of what’s really going on behind the mask as well as Wade coming to realization that having his powers come with responsibilities that are more than just stopping the bad guys. We understand many people are excited about Avengers: Infinity War, so they might stumble onto this before seeing the movie. We have something a little special this time for Let’s See a Movie. This week, Kolin and Sarah are joined by Tim, the Beanieographer as they see the latest and greatest from the Marvel Cinematic Universe: Avengers: Infinity War. Amazingly, we were able to catch this opening night. After braving the crowds, we experienced not only a wild thrill ride of action and adventure, but a nasty rollercoaster of emotions. Overall, we all agreed that Infinity War is an excellent addition to the MCU, however we also agree that we REALLY need for the next Avengers movie to come out, like, RIGHT NOW… PLEASE! I can definitely see myself binging this and the next Avengers movie back to back all the time, especially if that one is at least half as good as Infinity War is. I can honestly say, for myself, that this is the only movie where, by the middle of it, I was absolutely certain that I loved it, regardless of how it ended, I was sold. Wakanda Forever! In this, the fourth episode of Let’s See a Movie, Kolin and Sarah see Wes Anderson’s latest film: Isle of Dogs. Unfortunately, we were unable to see this one when it first came out; first of all, we were in the middle of moving, and it was also not widely released, and it only has just now been released in our area. This movie, as always encapsulates Wes Anderson’s classic style with a star-studded cast. The Story of Isle of Dogs delivers the typical sense of wonderment as well as delivers on a few tear-jerking moments. We agree that this movie is a must see, although, admittedly, I wouldn’t want to see if over and over since I’m not big on sad movies like this, but you can guarantee that we will be buying this one on BluRay when it comes out. In this very special third episode of Let’s See a Movie, Kolin and Sarah see Star Wars: The Last Jedi, a movie that we’ve been waiting years for. The two of us really enjoyed this film, and highly recommend it to anyone who enjoyed The Force Awakens. However, since this is the second movie in a trilogy, we can’t rate it higher than any of the other movies, since in this one, they’ve set a lot of things up that we won’t exactly see come to fruition until the next movie comes out. You can really tell that they’re taking Star Wars and making it more of a new story, rather than the same old same old that was in the original and the prequels. On a related note: they do take some liberties with The Force in The Last Jedi that I’m not a huge fan of, however, I haven’t read any of the Extended Universe, so these could all be things that are normal, but as far as the movies go, they’re not.
