I really like the way Colin takes current events and uses them to launch into philosophical discussions of different aspects of our current world that I might never otherwise think about. More about thinking and considering than knowing, but the aspiration justifies the title

Ridiculous to call this unbiased podcast. Never listening again.

“A calm…news analysis for folks of all leanings”. Sure. This is about as unbiased as the Israeli post or the view. Just because you “speak calmly” (aka your voice could lull a person into a coma) doesn’t make you a good middle of the road source. Not only non biased but painfully boring and pretentious.

This podcast is a great way to get informed without didactic bias. Thank you Colin!

I’ve been listening off and on since 2018, and I appreciate Colin’s calm delivery and exploration of context in a world of hot takes. He generally has an unbiased perspective, though his preferences creep in from time to time. I always appreciate his random book reviews at the end—some are in my wheelhouse and some I never would’ve known about without the pod.

Fascinating podcast! The host clearly puts a lot of work into it into every single episode, so the show is consistently high-quality. He always finds interesting ways to look at the topic and he’s naturally good at explaining things in an easily understandable way.

I usually like your topics, but can’t stand listening for more than a few minutes because of your weird, pretentious delivery. Seriously, man. Get a voice coach or just talk like a normal human. If that’s how you always sound, that must be exhausting to those around you.

Whether I think I’m interested in the topic or not, I learn something surprising and new every time… good for people who are generally inquisitive, covers all sorts of subjects. The pace is steady and precise, so you walk away with the feeling of having absorbed what you listened to. One of the few where I make it a point to catch every episode..

Colin has a gift for explaining things in ways that keep you intrigued, while giving fantastic relatively unbiased information. He is able to reduce complex topics into digestible language while also explaining parallel situations that give insight into the topic at hand. Listening makes you smarter and gives you great vocabulary, and I swear it will make you more eloquent in everyday conversation. His book recommendations are also stellar and have led me to many other fantastic artists and creators. Thank you Colin!

Wow. Colin Wright is becoming perhaps the smartest human alive, while unpacking a wide array of complex issues. His analysis and descriptions help listeners understand these subjects in a way that’s simply not available anywhere else. He’s covered topics in my wheelhouse, and on those I’m amazed by his understanding.

If asked whether I agree with Colin and his various opinions on a large array of topics like politics, spirituality, philosophy, human nature, etc, the answer would be “sometimes”. Fortunately, none of that matters in this podcast. Insofar as I have listened and interpreted, LKT serves as an unbiased and non-partisan look at the facts from various angles. Furthermore, the articles are investigated and presented in such a way as to help you understand what some of the potential implications may be. If you like to learn, not be taught, this is a great option for you. Thank you, Colin.

Really enjoyed this guy, but gets more and more political as he goes. Bummer.

Came here for knowledge, not your politically-slanted rants. Sick of it! Who cares! After listening to 25+, I find myself skipping large sections of your podcasts because you go on and on about YOUR political views. Keep it focused on the subject at hand. Stop the politics crap, or I’m gone.

He drones on about a topic based on one source. And usually that source is suspect at best. The last one on feature phones was the last straw for me. It’s like this alternative wishcasting history. It reminds me of when people at one time basically insisted that Shakespeare wasn’t written by Shakespeare and went to great lengths to show it had to be someone else. Luckily that narrative died away, much like each of the poor spun narratives on this podcast.

Well researched, and extremely well put together podcast.

This show is well researched and I can think back on the Online Dating episode and really appreciate the perspectives he brings up and how modern dating is and is not different than yesteryear. I wish Colin all the best and keep up the good work bud!

This is a great podcast! I found it through 99% Invisible. I took a star off because I wish they used more varied music/songs.

This podcast is so great. Colin takes a mundane topic and makes it incredibly interesting. Even if a topic seems like something you would not be interested in you need to listen to it. Colin finds a way to make you want to study it yourself.

Let’s know things is my favorite podcast that I listen to! I so look forward to my Tuesday commute because then I know I have an hour of geeking out about cool topics! I recently became a patron and I wish I had been able to do it sooner! Colin always does an amazing job at looking at a subject and getting a bunch of different angles of the story together in one mostly unbiased space! My wife and I love to listen to them together and it always sparks an interesting conversation about whatever the episode was on that week.

I freaking respect Colin so much and think he’s really great at summarizing his research and making it digestible for his listeners. As a hobby researcher myself, I often don’t make time to do these deep dives anymore, but our brains seem to work very similarly, and it’s very comforting/relatable to hear Colin doing fantastic work!

LKT is the only podcast I have set to download new podcasts automatically -- I would consider myself a frequent podcast listener but this is the only show I want to make sure I can listen to regardless of data availability. I love these well produced and researched deep dives. Choosen topics are contemporaneously relevant without being tied to a specific 24hr news cycle. Every episode demonstrates work and contemplation. I personally enjoy Colin's narrative form with it's organic exploration and human focus. IMHO, definitely worth a listen 👂

Colin Wright has satisfied my curiosity on many topics. I've been listening to this podcast on my morning walks via AirPod. He speaks at the perfect pace to make 1.5x speed comfortable for me. I haven't finished any episode but I learned a lot. After listening to 15 episodes, I've come to appreciate Colin's analysis on what's going on in the world. Collin does a fantastic job presenting his content in an unbiased meaner. He covers wide array of topics and they’re really well researched. Most of his content is hardly unavailable online. So I find them content and I like the diversity of topics. He’s very open minded and an excellent presenter. I enjoy them immensely.

Each episode is framed at the beginning with a historical or symbolic anecdote, and from there Colin develops a well researched, astute argument that’s always related to current events. At the end there’s a food for thought kind of moment and a media recommendation. Love it!

What makes this podcast unique is Colin's background. He's a minimalist who's written several books and has spent the majority of his life traveling the world, living a life which most only dream of. His unique perspective allows him to discuss fun and important topics in a well thought out way. Contray to podcast where hosts just 'riff' this show is well thought out, well researched and you'll come away knowing more than you did going in. I also like the weekly cadence vs monthly, which allows the shows to be relevant and topical.

I've been meaning to write a review for awhile. I'm not familiar with Colin's other work, but this podcast is pretty good; I like the one person format. Other podcasts with 2-4 people seem to turn into contests of who can make the funniest joke about the news. Colin's pretty thoughtful, and he focuses on things that aren't necessarily front page news right now, but still worthy of your attention. (The whole world doesn't exist within the front pages of your favorite newspaper.) Format-wise, Colin usually opens up with some background on the topic he wants to talk about. So he doesn't jump right in, he winds his way to the topic in an unexpected but totally relevant direction. Then he jumps to the new/noteworthy development and unpacks it. Where most people stop, he keeps going by driving to the core issue and extrapolating what it could mean. That's a nice touch that usually involves him asking a lot of questions but not pretending to have the answers. Sometimes I get a little annoyed at the superficial nature/fluffiness of the questions, but I do really appreciate the effort to delve deeper so I'm not dinging a star for that. He closes with a book recommendation, which is a nice touch. This is heavy in my dog-walking rotation. :)

I love how going into an episode I think I already know all there is to know on a topic but Colin always teaches me something new.

Informative, interesting, and thought-provoking, but without making me work too hard. This is one of my most-recommended podcasts, and it’s one of the few that rarely have new episodes remain unplayed for more than a day or so. Always anchored by facts, it’s clear that the research that goes into every episode of this podcast has both a breadth and depth appropriate to portray a realistic overview of each topic discussed.

Colin does a great job of cleanly conveying very interesting information. The depth and breadth of the topics he covers is truly impressive.

Perfect podcast for long car rides or anytime. Topics are always interesting and relevant to the modern world. Inquisitive yet easily digestible. Highly recommend.
