The New Testament Church of God (NTCG), National Women’s Discipleship Ministries (WDM) aims to discuss real life issues that affect the spirit, soul and body, such as everyday struggles with worry or fear, or more serious issues like social inequalities, abuse and self-destructive habits. Applying the whole-person approach and the biblically-based principles of freedom taught for over 65 years by the national church, the WDM Podcast will hold true to these tenets – “faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God” (Romans 10:17).

This episode is the first of a six-part series exploring abuse in intimate relationships. Dr Ava Kanyeredzi (Senior Lecturer and Researcher in Psychology at the University of East London) and Rev. Kim Bacchus (Ordained Minister, Strategic Development Coach and Trainer), both lead members of the Black Church Domestic Abuse Forum (www.bcdaf.org.uk) discuss domestic abuse, what it is, who it affects, the role of power and control and how the Covid-19 pandemic impacted reports of domestic abuse.
