In 1895, Theodor Herzl is an assimilated Austrian Jew, the press correspondent in Paris of the very influential Viennese newspaper “Neue Freie Presse”, a somewhat successful writer, a husband and father of three children. He may appear, at 35 years old, to have acquired certain social success. This, however, is only a facade. The “Jewish question” torments him continually. Solving it will become his obsession, cast his destiny and fulfill his ambition to leave a mark on history. Nine years that will literally consume his life.
