Top Notch
Great opportunity to get to know more about the philosophy of Launch School and its community.

Another excellent way to engage in the community
As so many others have pointed out, Launch School’s greatness comes from its community. What’s just as great is the variety of options to interact with the community. The podcast offers a compelling way to do so. When I was a prospective student, it gave me a taste for the sort of people present in the community and the principles the community focuses on, and I knew the school was a place meant for me, albeit virtual. The new style of the podcast in season 4 really helps me stay connected without needing to stay super active on Slack, since each episode outlines major happenings at the school, all while being led by charismatic hosts!

A refreshing approach to learning
The Launch School Podcast was such a gem to stumble upon when I was looking around at coding programs. The focus is on mastery as opposed to just building up credits and squeezing by a subject with a passing grade, so it attracts a certain kind of student who appreciates taking the time to learn. If you suspect you’re not that kind of student or worry that you aren’t at a certain level, the personal interviews with students of varied backgrounds can help you through those doubts. The first steps in the curriculum (free of charge) are getting you excited about the process of learning and selling you on the advantages of mastery; had I not decided to become a student, that exploration alone would have changed my path no matter what I decided upon. Like much of the study program itself, the podcast is student-directed. It doesn’t attempt to sell you on the school itself as much as the philosophy behind it and the students who form an incredibly supportive culture. My only regret is that I didn’t find this kind of program decades ago.

Great Content
Listening to the early LS podcast episodes was a major reason I decided to join LS. I appreciate the genuine content and stories

What LS is all about
If you’ve read through the Launch School website and want to hear about student experiences and graduate testimonials, the podcast is one way to do so - especially seasons 1-3. Podcasts are informative and engaging. I listen to them while taking a walk.

Software Engineer at Adobe
Based on my own experience going through their entire program, I confirm that Launch School is the real deal. Their claims regarding salary numbers and a 100% success rate are true and independent of the student’s background. My proof is that I’m currently a Software Engineer at Adobe. Feel free to reach out if you want to know more.

Great Insight for Prospective Students and Future Software Engineers
I'm a current Launch School student at the end of the Core Curriculum. When I first started to look into Launch School, and a career in software engineering in general, the LS podcast was a goldmine of information not just about LS itself, but about software engineering education and how to start a career in software engineering as well. One of the biggest issues for anyone thinking about switching to a career in software engineering, and by extension thinking about what educational path to take to get there, is this: who do I trust? Who can I trust to give me the education and skills that I need not just to get any job in "tech", but to help me launch a long-term, rewarding career as a software engineer? With so many "bootcamps" out there, with all their fancy brochures and ads and such, it's really hard to know what's just marketing fluff and what's not. But the LS podcast really helped to build that trust I needed to invest my hard earned money into joining a program and to make all the necessary sacrifices to do so. If you take the time to listen, you'll find lots of first-hand interviews with current and past students (who are now working software engineers), as well a great deal of insight from the LS founder, Chris. In short, listening to these episodes really gives a feeling of getting to know the school— it's values, it's process and ultimately the outcomes once you finish the program. So if you're thinking about a career in software engineering, do yourself and your career a favor and spend some time to give it a listen. Highly recommended.

Amazing podcast
It’s fantastic to learn about software engineering from such a variety of viewpoints and perspectives. I particularly enjoy hearing from different students and how each thinks about learning, software engineering, and studying at Launch School.

Reassuring and entertaining
I love hearing everyone’s experiences as they go through LS - I definitely can relate to a lot of stories here, and it helps to hear different points of view and struggles people may have gone through, plus really interesting life stories from various students both past and present. Plus, getting to hear about Pete’s cats is always a treat. 🖤

So good!!
I am a Launch School student and nothing helps keep my head in the game and motivated like the Launch School Podcast. If you’re a student, it’s a must listen. If you’re not a student, it’s a must listen. Hearing other people’s story about their journey to and through programming is SO helpful!

Insightful, great content
Love hearing the perspectives of students at launch school! Really helps bring what’s possible into focus (with dedicated effort) - thank you!

Wonderful insight into modern learning
Launch School is slowly and steadily changing the way students view education, emphasizing mastery over “just enough to get your foot in the door”. After several years, it’s great to hear how this new pedagogy has impacted the careers of their students.

How to Become A Software Engineer
The world is changing fast and getting quality education remotely from an online program is now possible. If you want to become a software engineer but have qualms about putting down the big bucks for college tuition or expensive bootcamps, Launch School is the place for you. This podcast does a great job of showcasing the community and student experiences of the program. Highly recommend.

There’s the best and then there’s the rest
This is the most inspiring and helpful podcast dealing with software engineering in general. Having the opportunity to listen to individuals of all backgrounds and what they’ve went through and are currently going through on their path to becoming engineers is fascinating. It inspired me to join the Launch School family, and my life has never been the same since! Thanks for all the wonderful work that you do, LS team!

Very informative episodes for beginners or advanced learners
I really liked listening to these podcast episodes because they allowed me to get the perspective of a wide range of students who are going through the Launch School curriculuum. It gave me some perspective and I definitely recommend listening to these episodes to anyone who is currently learning programming whether it is with Launch School or not. The episodes are full of good advice on how to learn programming, how to develop good habits, etc.

Great advice and insight, and motivation
I'm a new student at Launch Scholo, and these podcasts are an excellent way to understand the various experiences of other students here, and feel like part of a group in a way that isn't always possible with an online learning situation. It was especially cool to hear Jay Schenk's episode, as I've talked to him in the general hangout he hosts before, and we share a background in music. I highly recommend these podcasts to anyone who wants some insight into study habits or managing the anxiety that (pretty universally, I think) comes with a challenging undertaking like LS, or just to be reminded that there are others going through the same things as you.

Excellent Podcasts, Very Inspiring!
I am currently a student Launch School and I really enjoyed these podcasts! It's very inspiring to hear about how hard the other students are working, as well as the obstacles they have had to overcome to be successful in this program. Hearing these stories makes me understand that anyone can be successful at mastering web development, as long as they are willing to put in the effort.

Relatable and Interesting
These podcasts have served as a way to learn more about how other students working the launch school journey handle the hard work and reflect on their progress. I enjoy it because it is yet another way to bring the community together and learn more about our fellow classmates.

Informative, concise, and encouraging
I'm fairly new to Launch School (discovered it about a week ago, and decided to read up on student stories and some of their webinars while taking the free prep course. These podcasts convined me that I was making the right decision to consider Launch School, but I'd recommend them to any serious beginners in programming. The part that makes these podcasts so interesting is seeing how students moved setting a timetable to 'this is when I'll be a programmer' to really understanding the value of mastery based learning, and how this has pushed them to understand the 'craft of programming' so to speak. I've enjoyed all the podcasts so far and I can't wait for more!

You can learn a lot from these conversations
It is really useful to hear programmers of different levels talk not just about code but also about the peripheral topics that are often forgotten: how to learn, how to balance study and practice with other life responsibilities, etc. This podcast is highly recommended for anyone looking to become a computer programmer, those already working in the field, or anyone who seeks exposure to deep insights into the process of learning how to learn.
