Great journalism!
Postmortem: Last Seen was awesome! Great work, Ally! Thank you for your research, well-paced storytelling, and thoughtful reflections. Riveting stuff narrated by a seasoned journalist. Also, don’t let the haters get you down- you have a great podcast voice.

Season 2 Episode 7
I enjoyed Season 1 and a few other episodes of Season 2, but episode 7 made me so angry, I didn’t finish it.
How dare you call yourself a journalist. Selfish acts to get a story and these two “artist” women who didn’t care to send it, after the cremains had been in the box for two years. This was hard to listen too, and I feel sorry for the German family. Shameful.

Black Raspberries ❣️
I also grew up with a lovely black raspberry patch. My grandmother made black raspberry jelly, it’s absolutely the best. I really enjoyed this episode.

Interesting topic, boring presenters
There are several other documentaries about this art height that are much more interesting to listen to and watch. The story is fascinating , but the presenters are boring.

Intriguing and well done
Great podcast! I actually really liked what you did with season two telling a shorter story each episode. I especially love episode 7 with the unexpected house guest!

First season was amazing
Loved season one. Hope 3 gets back to it

Overdone and poorly written
The narration is over the top and condescending. None of it sounds natural or relatable. The subject matter is interesting, and the style of hosting ruins it.

Great 1st season
The first season art heist plot was great. Hit or miss on the second season. The pupfish episode was great!

Episode 7’s breathtaking callousness
Really too much. Starts with the artist—too busy with her art and India adventures to return a human being’s obviously lost remains to their survivors for two years? At least the art studio person tries, before giving up. Then the journalist comes along and sees the remains as a story opportunity. Once she realizes that -- yes! — this person’s family has been suffering for years (who knew?), she strategizes to keep the remains *in her closet* with her subletter for an extra 6 months after she could have sent them on, because she wants to string the family along for more material? The most crazy thing is she shamelessly reveals all this to the listener as if it’s a minor self-indulgence, like skipping a workout or procrastinating an rsvp.

Should've stopped after Season 1
Season 1 was great. Season 2 is atrocious.
It's pretty obvious this pod should've just ended after the Season 1 story was over. Trying to keep it alive and come up with weird random stories for Season 2 was a big mistake. Quick unsubscribe.

S2 episode 7 so cringey
Agree with the other user regarding the selfish so called “journalist” wanting to make a story about herself instead of returning the remains of a family member to the rightful owner. Very unprofessional and cringe worthy

ick
Episode 7 left such a bad taste in my mouth I have unsubscribed. Seriously? That wasn't a podcast about missing ashes, it was about how some people aren't meant to be journalists. Insert yourself into the story to the point where you are more important than the dead guy and his family? That was just gross.

Enjoyed season 1
First season was a very good listen. Season 2 format change and story selection just ain’t doing it for me.

My favorite podcast and go to recommendation
Truly my favorite podcast of the last few years. It’s always one I recommend when people ask. I would love an update if there is anything new.

Wish there was more!
What a crazy ride. I loved the story and the suspense. This obviously took a huge amount of journalistic work and research, and I really admire the tenacity. I have to be honest that some of the convoluted details and introductions to countless new characters went a little over my head, but that’s what you get when you research an unsolved mystery! Great work.

Empty
Lots of talk but very little information. You think you're going to get an in depth story but all only have regurgitated snippets from decades of reporting, not cohesive and not conclusive. It's not even like a Chinese meal where you're hungry an hour later. You leave each episode hungry, feeling like nothing happened. Wondery is too often full of itself, getting away with far too many vapid series like this

Fantastic Podcast!
I lived in Boston in the early 90s, and remember along with my co-workers being transfixed by the robbery l! The great storytelling made it so real. I hope there will be more episodes!!

Like Listening to a Mystery Film
I love the production and storytelling of this podcast - it feels like curling up with a good mystery film or novel, keeps you guessing!

Just ignore the speech inflections.
Great podcast but hard to get through if you are affected by journalists with weird speech infections and/or trying to sound a bit too sexy. #flimflammer

Amazing!

This podcast if great !!!
But pls stop promoting Infectious unless you know what your talking about. You label people without knowing the real concern. So stop ! Just stop with infectious. It’s what you do label people because YOU don’t do the homework in the medical field.

Well produced and so fascinating!
I could not stop listening! Every episode is fantastically put together, and makes it so easy to listen to! Being a later listener, I was privileged to have the ability to listen to the entire season in one day. Yes, it was THAT good! I highly recommend taking the time to listen to Last Seen, you will not be disappointed, other than we still don’t have an answer!! Thank you for compiling such a wonderful series of audio episodes to present the incredible story of the Gardner art heist!

Maybe my favorite podcast ever?
I’ve actually never written a podcast review before - despite having listened to probably 95 of them at this point - but I had to write one for Last Seen. Every episode was an amazing story-within-a-story, and each one was told so well. I recommend this to anyone who likes true crime or history. Major bonus points if you happen to be a Boston resident like I am because they capture so much local color here. Amazing job, WBUR team!

Interesting and well done
Loved this podcast. The hosts did a great job organizing the information and telling this compelling story. I love true crime podcasts, and this was a nice break from the violence I typically hear about.
Side note, someone needs to create a podcast series solely focused on MILES CONNER, what a character!

LOVED every moment of it
Superbly done in every aspect. Kelly Horn narrates in her golden voice of which she has such masterful, subtle, nuanced command; allowing her to intensify the many big moments throughout the podcast. The perfect pause, pitch, tone, etc... She was truly a pleasure to hear tell this EXCELLENT story so superbly executed. My congratulations to WBUR and The Globe for this podcast; I feel a sense of pride as a 1974 lifelong Bostonian with my Life-long experiences with WBUR + The Globe.

Suspenseful and very interesting storytelling
This podcast about the current most valuable art heist in history is very interesting and entertaining. The hosts craft a narrative which keeps you on the edge of your seat and has you immersed in the investigation. Most episodes end in a cliffhanger that makes the next episode so much more tantalizing. Highly recommend!

Indescribably good
If I could give it 7 stars, or 10 stars, I would. Well choreographed, fascinating, clear telling of wht is, in fact, an intricate story. And hosts. Are. Great.

A disappointing genre of podcast
It’s hard to believe that Wondery created both “Dr. Death,” one of the smartest and most sophisticated podcasts ever, and this horrible, exercise in pure tedium. When Wondery teams up with real journalists and produces a documentary style podcast with interviews, archival clips, and narration, they can do good work. “Man In The Window” is another example of their stronger productions. But this style of podcast, characterized by excessive dependence on narration and bad, narrated, recreation of dialog, is just a total nightmare. I don’t know how anyone gets through stories of this type. Just not for me.

Stick to the Gardener
There is so much you could go into on the gardener providing deeper details but yet it switched over. The review is for those first episodes and they were amazing. Didn’t listen after because my interest were specifically to the heist. Please put more out there for listening.

More PLEASE
This is my kind of show! I loved the art museum info, loved the amber room. Please, please do more!!!

A Voice Like Hot Butter Then Came Smarm
I didn’t think I would be invested in this story as it’s not my usual fare of murder & mayhem but the season one caster’s voice is pure velvet. The story itself is well-investigated presenting many angles to mull over. Season two features the dueling smarmy casters from Endless Thread whose prolific use of the lexicon of try-hard hipness took me out of the fantasy.

Highly recommend
I binge listened to this very intriguing podcast. I visited the Isabel Gardner museum last year, so I felt I had a personal connection to the story. I suggest you look at online photos of the museum and photos of the paintings to enhance your enjoyment of this podcast.

Stick to the heist stories
The heist series was great. The vaccine propaganda is devoid of true journalism, and is nothing more than a talking piece for their advertisers (pharmaceutical companies). It’s trash.
victorgator
One of the best longform podcasts.
This is a true crime podcast for people who don’t necessarily like true crime podcasts. It’s up there with Serial or Bear Brook in the genre.
