Landry.Audio Episode #36.
Jean-Francois (J.F.) Dagenais is the guitarist for Canadian heavy metal band Kataklysm, who rose to prominence as part of the Quebec scene of the 90's.
They have more than 10 albums and are responsible in my opinion for one of the greatest heavy metal tracks of all time, "Blood on the Swans".
In addition to his role with Kataklysm, J.F. is also an award winning producer, who now resides in Dallas, TX, USA.

Growing up as a Sydney street kid bouncing between government housing and homelessness, Peter Graham was wandering aimlessly through life. Dropping into a karate studio one day, he figured it was a chance to finally be good at... something.
This led to a series of opportunities beginning as an 'uchi-deshi' live-in student in Tokyo as a Kuyokushin karate student under Japanese karate master Mas Oyama, and gave him the opportunity to compete in the world's most popular kickboxing tournament, K-1, before being pushed out by the Kyokushin Karate Association.
Professionally, Peter's competed in numerous disciplines including full contact karate, K-1, MMA, and boxing. He covers the stylistic differences between martial arts, his rivalry with Badr Hari and the 'rolling thunder', and how his fight with Alexander Emelianenko brought him back from obscurity.
Along the way we discuss the personalities he encountered including Mark Hunt, Ernesto Hoost, Bob Sapp, Wanderlei Silva, Cro Cop, Badr and the Emelianenko brothers.

Originally released in 1971, the original prints for Wake in Fright were considered lost for decades until editor Anthony Buckley discovered them in an American film studio and saved them only days before being scheduled for destruction.
One of only two films ever to screen twice in the history of the Cannes Film Festival, and holding a 100% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, director Martin Scorsese has said:
"Wake in Fright is a deeply -- and I mean deeply -- unsettling and disturbing movie. I saw it when it premiered at Cannes in 1971, and it left me speechless. Visually, dramatically, atmospherically and psychologically, it's beautifully calibrated and it gets under your skin one encounter at a time".
Anthony Buckley takes us through his life in cinema, answering questions related to the craft, and discusses why he considers Wake in Fright the best film ever made in Australia.

Pantera was arguably the heaviest, most popular band during the 1990's. Ruling the metal scene for a decade, infighting gradually fractured the band. When the September 11 terrorist attacks happened they cancelled their tour, and Pantera would never play another show again.
Bobby Tongs was an insider in their camp. With them from the beginning, he's best known as the videographer for their genre breaking home videos which continue to introduce new fans to the band.
I speak with Bobby about everything from the early glam days, the arrival of Phil Anselmo, the changing of their sound, their tours, Phil's drug addiction, how the Down side project began to splinter the band, their break up, Dime's gradual frustration with Damageplan, and Bobby's relationship with the remaining band members.
This is the story of the world's most important heavy metal band between 1990 to 2001.
