Vijay is the first professional athlete to ever come out of India. During his time, he was ranked #16 in the world and also defeated tennis legend Bjorn Borg when he was number one in the world. Since his illustrious tennis career, one can make a case that Vijay has had an even more successful career after tennis. He was awarded the Padma Shri, India's 4th highest civilian honour, appointed as the United Nations ambassador of peace by Kofi Anat, and also has made his presence well known in Hollywood, playing roles in infamous movies such as Star Trek and James Bond film, Octopussy.
