Brooks Benjamin, author of My Seventh-Grade Life in Tights, joins the podcast to talk about what inspired his book, what is real Seventh-Grade life was like, and what its like being a writer and teacher at the same time.

Rachel Kenyon, author of the picture book “You Know How To Love”, talks about how to find an agent (and how NOT to find an agent), steps to engage the twitter writing community, how to be more organized as a writer, and why she’s jealous of those cool coffee house writers.

Erica Rodgers is a children's author represented by Holly Root at Root Literary.  She has a Master’s degree in English and teaches kids how to rock climb. She writes Middle Grade fiction, is a freelance copyeditor, and is the assistant regional advisor for SCBWI-Midsouth.  She drinks crazy amounts of coffee and does NOT, in fact, carry a live septopus around with her.

Susan Eaddy is the author of books such as Poppy’s Best Paper and Poppy’s Best Babies, and illustrator of books such as ‘My Love For You Is the Sun’. She was an Art Director for fifteen years, and won some international 3D illustration awards, as well as a Grammy nomination. But her passion is, and always has been, illustrating and writing for children.  She is the Illustrator Coordinator for the Midsouth chapter of SCBWI (where I’m a member too). She loves to travel and has visited schools anywhere in the world from Taiwan to Alabama to Hong Kong.
