It takes great courage to leave your comfort zone, with no way back, and to risk everything and choose the unknown.
How we feel about risks, says a lot about us.
Every day, every moment, we calculate and assess, debate and decide.
The truth is, when it comes to risk, the only thing that matters is that you take the ones that are right for you.
We must remember that no matter how evolved we are, we are always capable of more.
Life is anxious to give us what we ask for, provided that we ask for it.
We are encouraged to experience life in such a way that it amazes us, opens us up to more, and allows us to maximize our potential.
This cycle tends to repeat itself often, especially when we feel encouraged to receive more. The fascinating thing about us humans, is that we stop when the going gets good, we receive whatever we were once asking for, and then we stop asking, ceasing the activities which manifested our desires.
We stop asking because fear reintroduces itself to us at the expense of love.
We place limits on ourselves when we believe that we are not ready for the reception of more good in our lives. We do this because we view risk as weighted, equating its size with danger and thinking the bigger the risk, the more dangerous it must be.
In this episode I cover the following:
* Why is risk towards self-exploration often met with great fear and anxiety?
* How can we navigate risk using both our mind & intuition?
* Why do most people seek safety and security over taking risks and changing themselves?
* How does our individual worldview (perspective) apply to risk taking?
* How can this prevent or facilitate growth? How does struggle, suffering and hardship factor into this?
* What is choice?- The power of choice (Risk vs Reward) Would taking risks be considered the same thing as gambling with our lives?
* What are some of the dangers/consequences of taking vs not taking any risks? (The Probability Theory)
* In what ways can risk-taking assist with the self-exploration & discovery process
* Making mistakes is often frowned upon in society however this is necessary for growth and learning. In what ways can failure be used as a means for improvement?
* How can adversity and obstacles guide us toward learning about our strengths and weaknesses?
* What are the emotional, mental, physical and social factors to consider before, during and after risk taking?
* How does setting challenges in life propel us towards new growth?
* What is the relationship between balance and ambition?
* How can a hectic life and the constant pursuit of more deprive us of our awareness and innate ability to be still, dream and be spontaneous?
