In late 2020, while dreaming of a massive city and an ominous, omnipresent voice, a young artist makes a sculpture in her sleep – a sculpture of a monstrous creature and what appear to be letters. Each episode is presented in the guise of a contemporary, highly produced audio documentary, but the stories are all inspired by classic works of dark fiction. Episodes in this first season are drawn from such sources as the weird tales of H.P. Lovecraft, the ghost stories of M.R. James, and the gothic horror of Robert W. Chambers.
