In the season finale of Keep Finance Queerd we are keeping finance personal by discussing how your personal identity impacts your finances. Traditional personal finance advice often attempts to put money in a vacuum. It tells you that all you need is to build a better budget, save more, spend less, and essentially just manipulate the numbers in order to be "good with money". The key connection missing in most personal finance advice is that it’s less about the numbers, and more about the person. In this week's solo episode, I share 4 major ways that your identity impacts your money. We will discuss the unique ways that both your personal and social identity influence your financial behaviours. I recommend having a journal by your side for this one so that you can reflect on the questions throughout the episode! Thank you SO much to everyone who has listened to an episode. If you haven’t already, I would love it if you’d take 5 minutes to leave a review on Apple Podcasts or Spotify. I'll see you all for Season 2 in 2023!!! The overturning of Roe v. Wade is more than an attack on human rights. It’s also a financial crisis. On June 24, 2022 Roe v Wade and Planned Parenthood v. Casey were overturned under the opinion that there is no constitutional right to abortion. How did this happen? What does it mean for us? How can we take action? That's what this week's solo episode is going to cover. We will go over a brief history of Roe V. Wade, what the overturning means and discuss what this means for people with uteruses both in the US and Canada. On today’s episode, Ellyce goes “under the desk” with TikTok’s favorite newscaster V Spehar (they/them) of @underthedesknews. V shares how their experience with security around money has evolved – and is still evolving – as a gay, non-binary person, journalist, content creator and entrepreneur. Some of the takeaways they hope you get from this episode are:Security with your money can change and is more complex than “having enough money”Starting a business can create more stability and security for those who don’t always “fit in”Success with money doesn’t have to mean doing or earning the most you canMoney is energy and knowing how to treat it as such can transform your lifeWe are honored to have V on the podcast during Pride Month!Follow V:TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@underthedesknewsIG: https://www.instagram.com/underthedesknews/Twitter: https://twitter.com/vitusspehar Subscribe to the V Interesting Podcast: https://podcasts.apple.com/ca/podcast/v-interesting-with-v-spehar/id1626342129 Join the Queerd Community: INSTAGRAM: https://www.instagram.com/ellyce.fulmore/ TIKTOK: https://www.tiktok.com/@queerd.co WORK WITH ME: https://ellycefulmore.com/Ready to take control of your money?
