In this episode, I address the self-defeating and foolish notion that “not voting” is a viable strategy for anything other than ushering in left-wing tyranny. I also take on the habit of calling things “fake and ghey,” and the kind of adult make-believe that can tip into psychosis. To do this, I take two approaches.First, I share part of my personal story about why I left Badlands Media. I have some experience and insight into the “everything is fake,” “voting doesn’t matter,” and related nonsense, because I was there when these rotten ideas first began to take hold in that community. Those notions were a huge part of why I left—perhaps the primary reason. I think those of you who have been with me for years will appreciate hearing this story. I’ve wanted to tell it for a long time but felt the moment hadn’t quite arrived. I think it has now.Second, I directly address Shipwreck’s two-minute video that pushes the not-voting strategy and the other delusional ideas.Timestamps00:00 Introduction03:32 "A precondition for reading good books is not reading bad ones…”06:30 Preface to Shipwreck’s video08:28 Shipwreck’s post and video, some initial comments from me13:45 Leaving Badlands and the central role this “fake and ghey” nonsense played in that decision. 34:41 I respect Badlands welcoming ideas and allowing differing views, but I think some foolish ideas, such as the notion the “fake and ghey” invites, are unworthy of being treated as valid. 35:30 Addressing directly the claims and ideas presented in Shipwreck’s video. The Just Human Podcast and Just Cases Newsletter are reader-supported publications.
