Just Before It's Obvious
I was watching a YouTube video about the Cohen brothers choice of wide angle lenses for their dialogue shots in their movies. It struck me that they use wide angle lenses at just the point before it's obvious. Too wide and too close and suddenly we get that distorted bulbous nose effect.
