In this episode, Tiemo and Aljaz virtually travel to east Asia to compare the new China International Commercial Court to the established Singapore International Commercial Court. There are various procedural and substantive differences to the courts starting with the political reasons behind their establishment. Also in this episode, they discuss the jurisdictional aspects about what kinds of cases can be brought before each court. Naturally, the conversation expands also to a more general discussion on the Chinese Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and what this may mean for the future of international commercial dispute resolution.
