Campea has a penchant for hyperbole. When a movie bombs or under performs he always says “no one saw it”, which if at least one person saw it, that’s factually inaccurate. His taste in film and tv is almost objectively bad and he can’t stop whining about the preview times at AMC. Skip it. I listened for a year before I stopped torturing myself. Get your entertainment news elsewhere and save your brain cells.

Interesting scoops and insider knowledge- it’s “his way or no way” with his opinion on all subjects- an insufferable know it all. Just listened to a Star Wars ranking (ugh can we get an original idea?) , and I can’t figure out why these guys even watch the movies. They clearly hate them, one reason why we have no more Star Wars movies- there’s no hate like Star Wars fans “love.”

What once was an escape from politics he’s adding more and more into his show.

Update: I stopped listening a while ago because John would go on unnecessary rants about nothing all the time and the show turned into a complaining podcast. Jumped back in recently and it has gotten worse unfortunately. John comes off as an old grumpy guy screaming “get off my lawn” This is a great podcast about basically everything but mostly movie, tv and tech centered. John Campea has such a great passion in the topics he covers and makes the podcast enjoyable. Hopefully the podcast get longer.

2 things with this lower case podcast. 1. Few years ago Campea told his followers to send money to make suggestions for a new name for his show and many (not me lol) sent him THOUSANDS of dollars with ideas for a new name…HE NEVER CHANGED THE NAME AND TOOK THE MONEY. He has never addressed this publicly of course because… obviously reasons. He’s a “good” Canadian Boi. 2. If you like feminine vibes and low energy movie podcasts, this is for you. Also, as time goes on, it’s Less about entertainment and news, more about his election losing Cali Boi Agenda political ideologies…. WITH THAT DOWN…

I tolerated John’s gross smugness because there was good news being reported on something I love. But he’s just another unhinged liberal with TDS. I work at Stanford University. And tune into podcasts to get away from unhinged liberals. This egotistical guy can’t get out of his own way. He once gave 10 things not to do to have a successful podcast. And one of them was don’t get political. This guy doesn’t follow his own rules. I’m done.

I used to love John on AMC Movie Talk and have even tried listening to this show for the longest time, but his tone now of “I’m right and if you don’t agree, you’re stupid”is just ridiculous. Makes the show intolerable. Ohh well I can always go back to YouTube and watch old Movie Talk episodes🤷🏼‍♂️

Hey John, I’m a long time listener/watcher of your show.. I also love Disney, and would love to go to D23, so I was surprised, disappointed, and and honestly a little offended, at hearing your little rant at the beginning of the latest episode. Usually, you’re so good at adding the disclaimer to your opinions that not everything is for everyone, things hit people differently, etc. but I was disappointed, not because you disagree with me and countless others, but that you would even try to discourage anyone from going to an event that you know that hundreds would love to go to (BTW, even if you did somehow sway someone, everyone who's going bought their tickets months ago, as they always sell out very soon after going on sale). Things like this make me not want to listen to you, but in reality, I’m probably being too sensitive and will soon remember all the things I love about your show. Despite all this, the show does bring me great joy and you constantly remind what I love about movies! I will be very sad when you retire, but also happy for you! I hope you read this!

Overall a very good show. John and his crew do a great job at researching, theorizing, predicting, and just making a very entertaining show.

I’ve been listening and watching John for 12 years, whatever platform he’s been on.. The vlog, to AMC, and now The John Campea show. I LOVE HIM!! He’s just VERY liberal and has a algorithm on his YouTube that automatically blocks you from his channel if you even say the W word.. If you don’t know, it rhymes with toke.. Which is a bummer because a lot of that discussion goes on in Hollywood when it comes to movies and TV shows.

Campea is the best and Rob is amazing. Best movie podcast out there

John is a wonderful podcast to listen to give you real time insight on the latest news in the entertainment arena. I have been enjoying his podcast/ YouTube show for years. He includes talented insiders as guys, that bring interesting insights on what I love the most Hollywood movies, tv shows and now streaming …keep up the good work and I will be listening 👂

I am sensing he’s showing his bias and nepotism for Marvel and Star Wars tremendously. His frequent rants and downplaying the viewers is childish. His subtle sexual innenudios jokes are suppose to be humorous but come off as cringe. Kris Carr, Jonathan Voko and RMB brings the strength of the podcast. His exclusive paid tier member chat comments business model appears idiotic and stale

Every week John Campea doesn’t believe Barbie will reach a milestone and then it does. He still thinks Super Mario Bros will be #1 worldwide box office of 2023. He actually thinks Dune 2 could be #1 of the year. I love Dune but no way does it have the cultural foot print of Barbie. Wish it did but it doesn’t. John needs to stop underestimating Barbie. He can’t fathom that a non-comic book movie is doing so well.

Show has become inconsistent, unpredictable, and too emotional. Too many changes without any honest explanations. This gave the host a disingenuous persona. Plus, John shadow banned half his viewers even if they only gave constructive opinions of particular topics. So “professional and alpha.”

Hello! Love this show! The only thing that makes my skin crawl is when I can hear John drink his water and I can HEAR him swallowing and the spit smack the entire show. John must have the best mic in the world cause I can hear everything!

John is just not talented enough to be a one man show podcast/you tube show. One man podcast are lame, very outdated.

When there were other knowledgeable members on the panel the show was fun and worth listening to. Now that John has totally centered the show around himself it’s gone downhill. Sad to see.

His podcast/show used to be good back before he started talking politics and censoring anyone who had a different viewpoint than his own. He has become very hateful towards others who simply hold a different viewpoint. He’s also skipped many questions people pay to ask him without refunding their money. The show has definitely gone downhill since he fired Rob as well. He’s a very opinionated and woke cry baby and you should steer clear of his podcast.

His ego and narcissism is too much for me. Man, he has fallen.

Since Burnett was let go from the show the conversations have just become meh. Appreciated Burnett’s perspective and brought a balance and diversity of opinion to the topics. Feels like it’s lost what made it worth coming to check out regularly.

Been listening to John for years and like a fine, comically priced wine at your local theater, he just gets better with age. Love the fairness and perspective he gives to even the most divisive subjects. Consistently funny and reliable entertainment news and commentary, what more could you ask for?

As podcast are very personal to listen to I just wanna warn everyone this person does nothing but things that benefit from. He does not do it for the love of art or film or comics. After all he did to his community I don’t even think he genuinely likes any of these things. It was just a way he made easy money.

I started watching the John Campea show during the pandemic. It’s been a part of my day, every day since. He offers great insight on the entertainment business, and the whole team come off as genuinely good people. They say you are the sum of the five people you spend the most time with. Well, I feel like I’m in good company listening to these guys every day!

I just wanted to write this review to say how much I enjoy The John Campea podcast. The show has great content and the topics are all very interesting. I recommend this to anyone who is a movie fan!!!

John Campea is one of the few honest and respectable people in his field. He does what is best for the business, and the viewers. Ignore some of the negative reviews, they are mad that he DARED to put himself first and spend more time with his wife.

I used to respect this guy, but he just gave his fans a big fat middle finger by saying pay me or you don’t get the full show anymore. Then after all the same feedback, well, instead of just posting the show in its entirety, we just won’t do the show anymore. Fine, take your ball and go home.
