I just love all the different personal stories, I just wish that Jim would coach the speakers not to use the word “um”. It’s very hard to listen to what seems like a great story, but when every other word is “ um”, I just skip to the next story.

As a person with a deep appreciation for the paranormal, I love the volume and care of the personal stories shared around the campfire!

I listen to Jim’s podcast every morning on my way to work. I love listening to his guests and their incredible stories. One of my favorite podcasts.

He has great guests, and I never miss an episode. And, I got to be on one!

Audio quality of guests calls is horrible.

I thoroughly enjoy this podcast. However, I’m unable to give it 5 stars because as a paying subscriber, I never anticipated having to listen to lengthy ads throughout the episode. All the other podcasts I pay for have the benefit of no ads for the cost of membership. Disappointing and annoying.

Great show if you can fast forward on the parts he’s trying to get your $

This is a new discovery and I absolutely adore it. BUT only having a few episodes for free, and charging $7.99/month for the rest, is absolutely ridiculous. A lot of people can’t afford it! Not fair and not cool. So disappointed

I love this podcast! Not only is Jim a friendly voice to listen to but also all the stories that people share here are just so good!!! Coming from a family that has experienced lots of encounters with ghosts etc it is makes me feel just like home!

Why did this suddenly become a money grab? $7.99 is insane when there is so much similar content in the podcastverse. I just don’t see the value. I can get Discovery Plus, with hundreds of shows, for less!

I enjoy listening to this podcast; the stories are a lot of spooky fun. Jim is a great host and mostly knows how to pick the right stories! However I would suggest fewer stories about people’s dreams as they are mostly boring and pointless. I would also suggest that you stop constantly interrupting people, just let them get the stories out.

Jim is a tremendous host and has taken the concept of old shows like Coast to Coast and improved them. Guiding callers through telling their own stories can by clumsy, but Jim does a top rate job of keeping them on track. The older shows are the best however. The 1 1/2 hour versions have too many advertisements and some of the stories go on and on and really seem to be rambling aimed at filling the time slot. Not allowing every caller to amble on would be great—especially if every caller makes it on the show. Some of the calls aren’t really worth the time it takes to listen. Some person waxing on about a dream they had isn’t interesting radio. Like I said, this is a top shelf show. Just find the old episodes and stay spooky. Those are the best!

Used to love this podcast, but it has been on the decline for months. The quality of the listener stories ranges from some woman talking about the show Little House on the Prairie and a dream she had to a guy who sounds like an uninterested frat boy telling a story about what happened to his sister in Utah years ago. And none of the stories go anywhere or are in the least bit creepy. Jim is a great host, but does not have much to work with anymore. The callers are really tilting the needle to the Coast to Coast AM crowd, and not in a good way.

Ive been listening to the campfire for years and used to love the show but lately it seems Jim mostly curates stories from paid subscribers - and while there is nothing wrong with that - when I hear the SAME person 3 or 4 times on different episodes talk about their bad dream or “eerie feeling” it starts to get really old. Most of the stories are told in an over-dramatic and theatrical way which right off the bat is a red flag. You’ll notice most of the best stories are told by regular people who aren’t really into the supernatural and are seemingly hesitant to share. Unfortunately, you may only get one of those genuine stories in every episode and the rest of the time it’s people turning a 1 minute “weird experience” into a 15 minute John Carpenter story.

I have listened to your podcast since the inception. I enjoy listening to your podcasts every day. You have a great voice and stories. Keep up the great work! Thank you SO much!

He was a Kumu, teacher in Hawaiian, and Kahuna, Master of Arts, mystical to oral history and hula, and I’ve never had any reason to doubt what I’ve experienced in my life. My favorite podcast by far. Every show is unique. The stories are fun to listen to. Jim Harold is a such a great host and exudes warmth and comfort. Listening to this podcast is like enjoying a chat with a dear old friend. Highly recommend!

when i first started following this podcast, it was free. NOW, it’s the last 10 episodes and if you want the one before those, you have to subscribe…. that is exactly what’s wrong with these kind of shows. especially good podcasts in general. once they realize they have good following, WHAM! pay to keep listening. 🙄 happens time and time again. i don’t know if Campfire was all totally free, but it was certainly more free than this..

I love this podcast it’s a weekly listen. I do agree with others who have listen for a long time. Too many interjections about old Ghost stories that we’ve all heard being brought back up, and talked about for back & fourth conversation. When we may want to hear the stories and less taking, or conjecture. But other than that this is a weekly listen I look forward too! Listen for years now. Also, so many long long long ad’s. I get that it’s free, but please don’t turn into other podcasts, won’t name name but they just ruin the podcast.

Love the way Jim interviews, class act, many modern journalists could learn from him. He reminds me of the best days of Art Bells "Coast to Coast AM" and a little bit of Walter Cronkite. He asks the right questions and listens. Gives his insights only when it pertains to the subject or contributes to the conversation. It's Not about Jim, it's about the people he interacts with and the story. That's the way journalism used to be. Why, did I say more tasteful then Art, that's a technology thing? Obviously, Jim does some vetting before interviews and putting it on the air, something sometimes Art Bell could never do, because of the nature of Radio. A lot of attention seekers and other people with issues used to call into Bell... Art had to make it work on the fly. Jim's got technology on his side, so he's vetted that out for the most part. It's a great show and I listen often, I became a member for his other shows. It's that good. Honestly, the campfire and his Cryptid/ Ghost base shows are worth the very small subscription because those are my favorites.

I’ve listened to this podcast for several years and it never disappoints. The stories are amazing and Jim Harold is a fantastic host who is a great interviewer and really easy to listen to. I never miss an episode!
