I don’t work in tech or the corporate world, and her episodes still resonate strongly with me. I find myself reflecting on them days after I listen. I started listening to Maureen’s podcast last summer. She is not afraid to discuss “taboo” items such as ageism, working in office and gender disparity in the workplace. And, that’s what I love about her and her podcast. I always learn a new perspective on this topic on each episode. Maureen’s influence is growing on this topic. I won’t be surprised to see her on 60 Minutes someday as a feature interview.

I found Maureen’s posts on LinkedIn and liked her intelligent and thoughtful advocacy. It helped me realize there was a bigger community around the topic of ageism. The more I learn about Maureen’s work on this subject, the more dimensions of value I find.

As a veteran public school educator who just turned 40 and is only 3 years into my tech start-up career, I am so happy to have found this podcast! I am learning so much about leadership, job searching tips, etc. Recommend this podcast to individuals, managers, and teams who are want to hear entertaining yet informative thought-leadership discussions.

With people living longer lives and birth rates plummeting, we’re moving to an older society — this is just a demographic fact. The transition will be smoother if we all begin to recognize just how casually ageist our culture is. Unfortunately, the current bias in favor of youth is so ingrained that we simply take it for granted. All of that said, Maureen is a delight to listen to, and she chooses her conversations carefully. It Gets Late Early is not only an important podcast, it’s a well-done podcast.

Maureen tackles an important topic for the tech industry. A subtle, maybe not so subtle, bias that after 30ish - every year you age, you face a slightly steeper slope. A slightly bigger hill to climb to stay current and relevant. The interviews are informative and funny. And often add a sense of lightheartedness and ‘we’re all in it together’ to an otherwise heavy realization. After all, time moves forward for all of us.

I’ve enjoyed this podcast since the earliest episodes. While much of the discussion is tech-oriented, the topic is still widely applicable - I’ve been sharing it with friends and colleagues. Ageism is an important topic to bring into the light, and while most of the discussion is about workers over 40, we’re also reminded that it goes both ways - we’re all on the hook to show respect, no matter one’s age.

A super important topic. Agism is so rampant in our society it is practically just expected and no where more than in tech. Age happens to everyone (if we are lucky) and at some point eveyone will have to deal with it. This podcast is exactly they type of discussion we should ALL be having.

Each episode has been interesting and empowering. For the first time I’m realizing this content applies to me and many of my peers even if we don’t even realize it yet. We are all aging in real time and what we perceive as “young” or even “not old” all lies in the perception of the beholder.
