English is the Lingua Franca of the world. In the Philippines, a large percentage of people in the country can speak the said language fluently. But what if someone from the Philippines had the chance to teach the language in another country where people's primary language is different, where English is not their medium of instruction or communication?
The first episode of Istorya's new segment talks about the life and career experience of Eli Dunton, a Filipina ESL teacher who is now helping pre-school students in Vietnam. In our discussion, she shared about teaching Vietnamese kids for the first time and her realizations after the encounter.
