Andrea Thomas, Executive Director for VOICES FOR AWARENESS, discussed the growing use of illegal and illicit drugs in Western Colorado, especially the increasing use of Fentanyl. Fentanyl overdoses in Colorado have increased by 10 times since 2016. Opioid overdoses account for nearly 2 in 3 overdose deaths in Colorado. Multiple agencies have partnered with VOICES FOR AWARENESS to increase community awareness of this growing issue, including the Das office, the GJPD, and the Mesa County Sheriff�s Office.
