Informative
These cats really hit the jackpot on this podcast. Like everyday there’s something nuts that happens. We’re back in a hot war boys! Let’s do this! Yee-haw!

They could be journalists-but mostly propaganda
The telegraph has a lot of resources, and the potential to be a truly great journalistic product. Unfortunately, you only have to listen for about 30 seconds to detect the extreme pro-totalitarian anti-democracy nature of their coverage.
These are leftists who find little to no fault with the anti-democratic forces of the world, and focus all of their biased propaganda-like reporting on attacking the United States and other democracies.

Great and week
A well done podcast until they dip into editorial opinion.

Ok, different perspectives.
Generally good but we gotta moderate some of these people. The woman on 19 Aug who gave 10 minutes of disclaimers of how she couldn’t speak for all 90 million Iranians. Just shut up and answer the question. Why tolerate such bloviated responses?

Enjoy It But Have Some Questions
I really enjoy this podcast and the sharp analysis and variety of guests. But it does seem to have a definite pro-Iran, pro-China, anti-US slant. The hosts and guests sometimes appear to have a certain glee in recounting what they see as a series of catastrophic failures on the part of the US. Aside from the fact that much of current media seems to be in the business of rushing to judgment and reaching premature conclusions, my understanding of journalism is that it should aspire to present the full picture of what’s being covered, including opposing views or opinions. Maybe the hosts could have some pro-US or at least more neutral guests on in order to provide a more complete picture of what’s happening.

Nothing Artificial
Anti-Semitic Reporters, Anti-Semitic Focus
The Telegraph is so good about the Ukraine War but they only seem to have contempt for Israel. Israel is attacked and suddenly we need a ceasefire! How much of Hamas’s propaganda is being repeated here? Only good to know what British anti-semites think. There is no anti-Hamas voices here. Just Anti-Israeli bias and racism to Jews.
They talk to doctors complaining about gun shot victims with no context that these are Hamas fighters who raped young girls. They should be shot and doctors complaining that Israel isn’t giving them medical supplies is morally reprehensible. The Telegraph isn’t admonishing the West and Ukraine for sanctioning Russia and not sending them supplies! The explanation seems to be racism against Jews. Hamas needs to be destroyed, including bomb engineers and accountants.
They listen Lebanese talk about how hard it is to live in war but nothing from the Israelis who were attacked and whose children were targeted and killed by Hezbollah. Just a lady defending Hezbollah. Typical British Jew hatred.

Trump derangement syndrome
Today’s host Missed a great opportunity to have an objective report. The report started out decidedly negative dismissing the potential merit of any engagement with Syria in this terrible conflict. The reporter does not need to tell me how to think. The reporter needs to report the situation and if it’s bad for the president of the United States so be it. But an option should not be discarded just because someone who is distasteful to this particular host of the program today.. please be more objective and don’t fall into disparaging, a man who can be unpredictable, but is hardly useless or worthless, which was the implication of the beginning monologue

Rather biased
Essentially every justification they use in defense of Ukraine on this show's sister pod they fail to apply to Israel. This show is mostly a string of nebulous anti Israel polemics.
Procrastinate
Axel Springer Clearly Impacted Tone
Since the acquisition of the telegraph by ultra conservative german conglomerate axel springer, the tone of this show has become markedly partisan in Trump’s favor. In the first month of the war there was a lot more coverage of the incoherence of the US’s decision to enter the war and the absence of any true value system motivating american foreign policy; they mainly interviewed israeli and american military and iranian pahlavists, but asked them cogent questions that help sketch a picture of the situation. Now in the last two weeks there is far more editorializing about the great evil of iran and hezbollah by the journalists themselves and a framing of the conversation around helping the US win the war rather than asking why it insists on pursuing a war with no payoff, while alienating allies, without a path toward strategic victory. I appreciate the coverage of the war’s particulars on a day to day basis because it can be hard in the US to know what is happening, our media is so scattered— but i hate that the new ownership is noticeably changing the standards that this journalism is held to

Much better and...
Great show. More up to date info than others. Venetia, please slow down your speech and build empathic relationships with your guests. You can be short. Love carols d

Really substantive and helpful!
I found this when I searched for “Iran” in a different podcast app, and it has been enormously substantive and helpful.
They seem to have really knowledgeable guests on, especially on military matters. The tone is refreshingly neutral and factual. Since it is not an American podcast, it lacks the sort of republican/democrat partisan perspective, which I appreciate.
I now listen to each episode, it often contains important information I don’t find in the NYT or WSJ.

Come for the news take what you want from the opinions
It’s very hard to find good reliable actual news about what’s happening on the ground and this show is the best source for daily updates I’ve found. I don’t always agree with the hosts opinions and views on the politics but it’s great reporting and crucial for moments like now
podcastfan1984
Not unexpected
Quite left leaning and anti-American. Not on par with sister pod Ukraine TL.

Shallow
Stick to the facts . Hold your opinions.
Your understanding of us politics is shallow.

Great show
Great discussion on the war in Iran, but Hackett - who’s brilliant - was over his skis re: LCS and mine warfare.
Love this pod - been listening since David started it. Roland and Venetia do fantastic work, covering conflict across the globe as only they can.

Great Topics
Wonderful moderator and the guests are exceptionally knowledgeable. I love Roland for not having rose colored glasses. The most objective personally from the Telegram. - I’m a subscriber.

The latest
I thoroughly enjoy this informative show. The latest is a wonderful branch off from Ukraine the latest.
This week with war breaking out with Iran, I deeply appreciate the reporters and the experts that you bring in bringing information about the current current conflict.
Thank you for pivoting so quickly and keeping the public in the West informed.
Kind regards,
Ian

good reporting but
are all conservatives everywhere bereft of a consistent ethical standard?

Europe is Finished
Constant harping on need for the United States to save Europe. EU states have an economy many times greater than Russia’s; yet it’s always bad Trump, USA pays, US guaranties; US troops. Are you Europeans going to help with the coming war with China? Once again, Europeans cannot take care of themselves.

Focused, wide-ranging, and thoughtful
Focused and compact coverage of conflicts around the world. Current news leavened with future and imminent threats is presented with knowledgeable guests and pertinent questions. Thoughtful and sober and worth your time.

Very uneven and slanted
Not worthy of Telegraph and particularly biased against Israel. If I wanted to hear Qatari inspired polemics I would be tuning in to BBC …. Telegraph pls do better

Always Fascinating
This is one of the most impressive podcasts around for balanced news and analysis of current conflicts, military preparedness and technology. The interviews with military experts are riveting.

Excellent but I gave a request
This is a very informative and trustworthy podcast. I love the hosts, I think they find a good balance of explaining the horror but still keeping spirits high.
Now I would like to ask you to please cover the war in Sudan. What I know about it makes it the most severe humanitarian crisis and no one talks about it.
Sad-faced
The way news should be
I like the in depth discussion on Friday concerning the “would be king” of the United States. As far as I can tell the sycophantic press in the United States is too fearful to speak truth to power.

Another Fantastic Telegraph Product
Started by the same team that produces Ukraine the Latest. Battle Lines explores other conflicts from around the world, in addition to Ukraine. The listener gets to hear from citizens, journalists, and historical experts.

On Israel
I’ve been listening to your podcast since day 1. And Ronald, your anti-Israel bias is just to difficult to tolerate. So, with regret, I’m unsubscribing.

Not “Ukraine the Latest” by a long shot.
It’s unfortunate that The Telegraph chose to endorse such a bias production.

Rather shocked…
The Ukraine coverage has been so outstanding I was shocked how sympathetic to Hezbollah this series is.

Great podcast
I am really enjoying the broadened scope of reporting on conflicts around the world. This and its sister podcast, Ukraine, the Latest, are compelling and thoughtful. Many thanks to David Knowles and the Telegraph for providing these wonderful resources.

Might as well watch Russian Tv or Al jazeera So disappointing
This is so different then the Ukraine coverage by the telegraph or the newspaper coverage of the war in Gaza. Disappointing

Garbage
Liberal garbage. Pretending like Israel is somehow the problem and the UN is actually a worthwhile organization. Don’t waste your time with this crap.

Episode Frequency is inconsistent
Great podcast - and you’ll eagerly await the next episode only for it not to arrive

Moral double standard
I listened to Ukraine the latest every day and started subscribing to the Telegraph because of your excellent reporting. I have been heartbroken to see moral hypocrisy when it comes to Gaza. All military occupation is wrong. All targeting of civilians is wrong. All detention without cause is wrong. The torture and humiliation of civilians is wrong. Not just in Ukraine. Natalya, I know you to be a moral person - please speak out. David, I know your heart broke for Ukrainians - please be equally impacted by the atrocities in Gaza and the West Bank

Israel wants to exterminate Arabs
Muslim Christian or otherwise, the Israeli government which is a Theocratic Fascist state use programs like this to normalize their atrocities by completely sidestepping the ongoing war crimes in the West Bank and Jerusalem committed by the Israeli occupation forces.

Another Great Podcast from The Telegraph
Another great internationally-focused podcast from The Telegraph!

Same outstanding quality as Ukraine the latest
As an avid daily listener of Ukraine the Latest, I am happy to report that this new podcast reflects the same high journalistic standards that we have come to expect from Telegraph podcasts. “Watching unedited footage” in particular is a must listen for anyone who cares about humanity. I am grateful to all journalists for their tireless work and efforts in keeping us informed. I encourage others to subscribe to The Telegraph to support their journalism.

Watch the equivocation
I love the Ukraine: The Latest podcast, but thus far, the equivocation on Battle Lines between Hamas terrorists who slaughtered Israelis and the attacks on Hamas in Gaza as they hide behind civilians is disturbing. I can’t imagine you doing the same in regard to the Ukraine war. Remember who the terrorists are here.
