Hi friends,
When I was in elementary school, I remember old world maps in my history book with crude drawings of land forms, cliffs and waterfalls at the edge of the then- believed- to-be-flat earth, sea serpents and sea monsters strewn across the vast unknown and unnamed bodies of water.
And then on the next page there would be a modern day map, one updated with the actual shape of the earth, names for each continent and ocean, the distances between all the water separating us, and no sea serpents or monsters to scare us off our explorations.
If we had a map for our internals worlds however, we’d have two, similar to the ones I just described, and both would be accurate.
The first is for navigating a breakdown, and the second, updated and modern one, is the breakthrough.
A breakdown will take us through parts unknown and unnamed, we will fight some sea serpents and monsters along the way, and maybe even fall off the edge for a bit.
The breakthrough will give us names for the waters we crossed and the lands we’ve explored, we will have a little more knowledge of the shape of everything, no more monsters to scare us off the journey, and the vast unknown shrinks just a little bit.
When was the last time you felt like you had a breakthrough?
The dictionary defines breakthrough as: a sudden, dramatic, and important discovery or development.
We all want to have these ecstatic moments of breakthrough, important revelations in our lives, a flash of insight, a bit of enlightenment when we are able to see differently, choose another way to live, a new path of freedom, but these breakthroughs come with a price: we must cross through some unknown and unnamed waters and territories.
