Spiritual Inner Judaism
Spiritual Inner Judaism
Ruth Schapira
Explore Judaism through a spiritual lens, with episodes focused on understandings about your soul, your character traits, and your life. In a short amount of time, you’ll feel that you're on a spiritual journey, hearing new and meaningful ways that Judaism speaks to you. I’ll also introduce you to the practices of Mussar, an ancient practice devoted to realizing your own spiritual potential. The development of your soul takes time, so listeners often return to episodes to hear the lessons again. Through Inner Judaism, I hope you discover a new connection with Judaism.
Losing Yourself to Anger
In moments of rage, we succumb to anger, disregarding everything else. Our focus narrows entirely to our own pain and self-expression. In that split second, we care only about venting. Our ego takes over. What is the spiritual danger in this?

Journey to Self
Join me for a spiritual teaching focused on finding inner fulfillment rather than seeking external solutions. Our culture encourages looking outward for satisfaction, but Jewish spiritual teachings emphasize turning inward to discover your true self.

Growing in Gratitude
Do you find moments when you need to pause and reconnectwith the deepest part of your soul? Sometimes, the formal prayers that we may say might notreflect our deepest desires. This prayer emergedfrom a desire to express gratitude for the gifts and challenges I’ve been given to help me become who I am meant to be. Maybe you have felt this way too.

Getting to where we once were
Sacrifices? Offerings? We're so far from being able to relate to biblical times when that was the medium of connection to the Divine. Listen to this podcast for a way to understand what all this meant back then, and what it means for you now.

How Judaism Defines Hope
In this episode we’ll explore the very idea of Hope inJudaism. My hope is to open your heart and offer you a different way of thinking about this emotion. What does it mean for you, for us as a people, especially at this time—- the start of a New secular year.

In Defense of Noah
We’re into just the second portion of the Torah with Noah. For those of us remembering days in Hebrew School, this is the story of the Flood, events that led up to it, and Noah’s instructions from God to build an ark for his family and many animals. In this episode, we’ll delve into what we know about Noah. Why was he chosen? Many of our sages say that compared to someone like Abraham, for example, Noah falls short. I'll come to Noah's defense in this episode!
