The military aerodrome at Locarno is a vital hub for the Swiss Air Force. Since 1941, the Armed Forces have held their basic training courses for military pilots there. In parallel, it is also used for civilian purposes, and the broad range of aviation-related products and services on offer make the airfield an attractive place to work in the Canton of Ticino, as well as a meeting place for diverse worlds and cultures.
