Being a mother raising young children in a country which is not your own can be quite lonely. Far away from family and functioning in another language on top of all the responsibilities of motherhood can be challenging indeed. Plunket Hawke's Bay understood the need of Indian mums living and raising their children here in the Bay. Thus, Indian Mums Group (IMG) was started in 2014 and introduced at The Heretaunga Women's Centre where they continue to meet weekly. IMG has become like a family...we laugh, speak in our native tongue, share our experiences, help each other reach personal goals and best of all create beautiful memories. It is the support we give one another which is helping us all thrive in Hawke's Bay.
