Spotlight: Chinese Films are Ruling the Box Office This Summer
In this edtion, Chinese films are ruling the box office this summer; a play Twelve Angry Men has been put on stage in Beijing; a bilingual children's musical, Five Fools, which has been highly popular in South Korea, will make its China debut soon; since Beijing has won the bid for hosting the Winter Olympic Games, we'll celebrate by playing some of the songs written specifically for the event.

Spotlight: How old is Beijing?
An exhibition at the Capital Museum reveals the 3060-year history of Beijing; How Chinese film schools are doing to prepare students for China's ever changing film market; We'll also check out a four-episode documentary, entitled "Truth and Denial: Germany and Japan's Postwar Redemption". The documentary was aired to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the victory of the Second World War. At the end of the show, we'll review a book, "The Hairstyle of Pan Jinlian" or in Chinese, "Pan Jinlian De Fa Xing" , which may help us to take a glimpse at the temperaments and daily lives of ancient Chinese people.

Germany's Goethe-Institut brings modern theater art to Beijing
Hello and welcome to this edition of "In the Spotlight", a show featuring arts, culture and showbiz from right here in China. I'm your host Li Ningjing. First up on today's program, we will tell you about Germany's Goethe-Institute that is bringing several modern German plays to an experimental theatre here in Beijing.
