Want to find reviews of the latest and greatest content that video on demand has to offer? Who you gonna call? Us of course! This week James finds his time divided between two rival streaming giants as he delves into Netflix's latest Korean show Hellbound and Amazon Prime's eagerly anticipated The Wheel of Time. And no, we haven’t read the books! Meanwhile, Dan shows a lack of dedication by only giving us one solitary review, Irvine Welsh's Crime, available on Britbox.
Reel News once again becomes Marvel News as we give our initial impressions on the latest Spiderman No Way Home trailer, plus we touch on Scarlett Johansson's healed rift with Disney. Elsewhere, Arcane's unexpected worldwide success is also discussed.
This year has been a never-ending onslaught of sequels, reboots, and remakes and this week is no exception. One could be forgiven for thinking Hollywood is running out of ideas but does Ghostbusters: Afterlife prove that sometimes a lack of originality isn’t always a bad thing?

After the culture shock of Marvel's Eternals, your favourite podcast hosts return to the safety of male-led TV dramas. James prescribes himself The Shrink Next Door and Dopesick, and Dan reviews Succession and Dexter: New Blood.
Marvel announced more titles for their endless stream of content, and James tests casual fan Dan's knowledge of the lastest obscure characters that the media will pretend to like. Vin Diesel also comes in for some mockery.
Dwayne Johnson, Ryan Reynolds, Gal Gadot. It was inevitable that Netflix's Red Notice would become the biggest streaming movie of all time (according to Netflix's data that only Netlifx has seen). Red Notice is indeed a crowd-pleasing film, if by "crowd" you mean a global collection of disconnected individuals consuming content alone.

It's another battle of the terrestrial TV dramas this week as Dan compares BBC's Showtrial to Channel 4's Close To Me (one is good, the other is not). James discovers an unlikely gem on Netflix as he delights in the visually spectacular Arcane. Apple TV's Finch also made its way onto the watchlist, providing far fewer positive descriptors to insert into a sentence.
In our round-up of cinematic affairs, we discuss how Vin Diesel is quite possibly a bit of a [Insert derogatory expletive]. We also discuss, with initial 'spoiler free' trepidation, some potentially universe-shattering Marvel news.
Speaking of Marvel, it's the studio that just won't leave us alone and this week is no exception. Chloè Zhao is the latest talent to bring her directorial sensibilities to the Super Hero genre, in return, we give our unqualified opinions on Eternals for our main review. Is it another Nomadland or rather a Did not land? A quick Google search will show you that worldwide consensus arrives at the latter but why not have a listen to what these boys think? Spoiler - We agree!

As the winter cold descends, your hosts snuggle up (not together) for the latest and greatest content. James tries Insider, Netflix's new Spanish reality show, and catches up on What We Do in the Shadows. Dan revisits the Clinton–Lewinsky scandal with Impeachment: American Crime Story, and looks back at the all-time classic Gladiator.
The BBC recently published the top 100 greatest TV shows of the 21st century, creating an easy opportunity to bring Conflix of Interest back to the podcast.
Expectations are high for Edgar Wright's latest work, Last Night in Soho. Is it a no no, just so so, or a go go?

Greetings stranger! All Hallows' Eve is finally upon us… To mark the occasion we bring you our latest episode a day early. A shameless attempt to bag more listeners who may be looking for scary recommendations to see them through this festive period.
In the interest of being transparent, those listeners may be left with a bitter taste in their mouth, as our watchlist is jam-packed with reviews that have nothing to do with the spirit of the episode title. James has hardly anything positive to say about Locke & Key, Invasion, or Inside Job. Meanwhile, Dan has mixed feelings on The Outlaws (Bad), Stath lets Flats (Ok) and The Trip (Good). As always, we also discuss the world of Film and TV news but this is similarly devoid of horror-related content.
To ensure we stay somewhat thematically relevant, we stab our way through multiple plot holes and carve out a thorough analysis of the latest addition to the Michael Myer's franchise, Halloween Kills.

Does Google read your mind? James seems to think so, but Dan has his doubts. You, no not you, You the programme returns to Netflix for its third season. Young Rock provides wholesome yet comedic lessons about integrity and family. Apple TV's Foundation lumbers on. Ladhood on the BBC emerges as one of the surprise hits of the year.
We discuss the early reviews for Marvel's Eternals, picking out the negative ones to support our agenda. Y: The Last Man was cancelled. Why? It's more complicated than "go woke go broke."
Dune has finally arrived and we have much to say about the structure, pacing, cinematography, production design, tone, and direction. But the conversation loses all credibility as we mostly fail to pronounce or recall the names of the actors, characters and locations.

For our watchlist this week, James embraces variety by sampling Neil Blomkamp's Sci-Fi shorts experiment Oats Studios. Sticking with Netflix as a consistent source of content, he then takes a trip into a German courtroom to give his final ruling on The Billion Dollar Code. Elsewhere, Dan discusses the problematic handling of sensitive subject matter with ITV's latest drama Angela Black and delivers his overly long, complex feelings about a terrible film, The Intergalactic Adventures of Max Cloud.
In Reel News, William Shatner boldly goes where no celebrity man (or woman) has gone before, we use this as an opportunity to fill 3 minutes of silence. Meanwhile back on earth, reviews are in for Ghostbusters: Afterlife. Is the positive reaction going to encourage us to don our proton packs into the cinema?
One film that did make us return to our local cinema is Venom: Let There Be Carnage. Due to us making the effort to see it, we decided to use our collective experience to feature it as this week's main review.

After debating the culpability of strangers looking in your living room window, we discuss at length our streaming selection for the week, something we are often liable to do. Dan enjoys the continuing lessons of Sex Education, and literally sings the praises of The Chestnut Man. James becomes a Jodie Comer fan after watching Help, and figuratively sings the praises of 28 Up: Millennium Generation.
In the rumour and fact mill: Phoebe Waller-Bridge as the new Indiana Jones, and Russians winning the new filmmaking space race.
Back in June, we each made our predictions for the UK summer box office top ten. Now it's time to find out who is the winner, while a brutal punishment awaits the loser.
The Guilty is Netflix's big film, or it's at least big enough to merit an in-depth review in the absence of big cinema releases. We talked about watching Jake Gyllenhaal shouting on the phone for a good while. And now you can listen to us talking about watching Jake Gyllenhaal shouting on the phone. If enjoy listening to us talking about watching Jake Gyllenhaal shouting on the phone, please tell your friends about listening to us talking about watching Jake Gyllenhaal shouting on the phone.

James laments the underwhelming arrival of the highly anticipated Sci-Fi epic Foundation. He does however find faith in Midnight Mass, an above-average horror drama from Netflix. Dan turns to terrestrial TV as he discusses Sex Actually with Alice Levine and ITV's latest crime series Manhunt.
As for the latest news hitting the headlines, it's mostly doom and gloom as we bid farewell to Apple TV's Mr. Corman. We also outrage at the possibility of an unnecessary Gladiator sequel.
Finally, we aim to end on a high much like the producers of this week's main review. After years of waiting, Bond is Back for the final time (at least in a Daniel Craig skin). Come and join us as we blast our way through No Time to Die.

James springs a quiz ambush that puts Dan's film knowledge to the test. After the dust settles, we discuss some of the very latest streaming offerings: Wolfe, The North Water, Squid Game, and Only Murders in the Building.
It was a great week for Reel News. We cover Marcia Lucas bashing the Star Wars sequels, the collapse of ill-conceived reality show The Activist, and the proposed redesign of Jessica Rabbit.
And verily, we doth have a hearty main review for thee, of a long expected tale we have long coveted. The Green Knight. A film that subverted everyone's expectations by not being the story of Batman fighting climate change.
