Gravitate Towards What You Know
In this episode, we will listen to two stories on music's ability to ground us in who we are and what we know. Much of the music we know and love today has been inspired by our upbringing. Those late night car rides, listening to music with friends and family, are monumental in shaping how we show up in the world. In our mini music memory, narrated by Ayanna, and our featured memory narrated by Kadeem, we will learn of songs that navigate us towards what we know.

This is Happiness
What does happiness look like for you? For me, its peace of mind. More specifically its good music, a completed to do list and some sandalwood incense. In this episode, we will hear two stories around happiness. What I love most about these memories is that happiness takes many forms. In our mini music memory, narrated by Clemens, happiness is the start of an adventure. While in our featured memory, narrated by Jay, happiness means family.

What makes an event memorable?
COVID has prevented us from indulging in the live music experience, but what it hasn’t taken away from us are our memories of past shows. The last show I attended was Anderson.Pak’s 'Ventura'; and while the music served as the soundtrack, the lighting, stage design, setlist, the overall ambiance contributed to my experience and my memory of the show. In our season finale, I sit down with Production Manager and my good friend, Sam Dinkins IV, to discuss some of his music memories and what all goes into making live events memorable.

Since the beginning of time music has remained one of the primary outlets for storytelling. It’s virtually impossible to have a song that doesn’t tell a story or evoke some kind of emotion in its listeners. Today I’m joined by filmmaker slash director, Andrew Butte, to understand the role of music in storytelling and how our memories inform those stories
