#05 - the expectations we put on ourselves
Hi Friends! Thanks for tuning into this short episode. I know it's a bit unconventional, but I wanted to talk about the feelings that arise when we don't meet the pressure and expectations we put on ourselves, and how after a while, these self-assigned expectations can feel like they're coming from others around us when that's simply untrue. All that to say- you can give yourself grace. I know I need to give it to myself every day.I can't tell you how much I appreciate you being here!

Kate is literally sunshine in human form and her and her family’s story is such a testimony of the love, miracles, and redemptive power of God- from foster care siblings to literal blind-to-sight miracles. I can’t wait for you to hear her story and just hear how kind and joyful she is. I think you’ll be encouraged by her spirit alone. Today I am sitting down with my precious friend, Carley. Carley is without a doubt one of the strongest, most faithful believers I have ever met, and as she has gone through truly some of the hardest and most life altering circumstances over the past several years, her faith has been so apparent and inspiring to those around her. We’re hopping right into the conversation after the intro, so I hope you enjoy hearing her story and her wisdom!

Episode 01 - Introduction
Hi friends, welcome to In Good Company- the podcast where we connect with hurting & healing women, make space for their stories, and invite them in as company with stories that are often only told among friends.I wanted to give an introduction to what this podcast is and why I was inspired to start it.After going through a recent season of really difficult grief, I started to realize that the best help or “advice” I could receive (or give to others) isn’t really advice at all- it’s stories, experiences, and hearing other women say “hey I’ve been there too, and it’s hard, but God still pulled me through.”That’s what helped me the most in a season of loss- knowing I wasn’t alone. Because any hardships or overwhelming circumstances can make you feel really isolated- like you’re the only one that’s ever gone through that situation.I don’t like that feeling, and I have found SO much joy and comfort in exchanging stories with church friends and family, even in the midst of the hardest season of my life. There are so many more things I would like to say about why I wanted to start this podcast, but I could ramble forever so I’ll just leave it there.I hope that this podcast is a place where you can hear stories from women just like you that have been in the same difficult seasons of life as you, and take comfort in knowing you’re never alone.
