Yuchen Zhang YC: aihehuo.com, Co-founders, Engineer, China Startups, SLP
It takes about two years to transition from a corporate person to an entrepreneur. Too much money was put on bureaucratic things which are unnecessary for an early-stage project.  I need culture shock. I witnessed how 30 million got burned for nothing.  No payment option was a stopper.  If you go to a new city and you know nobody you just say you are an entrepreneur.  Step out of a foreigner's zone to tackle the China market.  You need to "hunt and date" for a local partner.Yuchen Zhang has a solid background in engineering and software from three universities and vast entrepreneurial experience both in China and abroad. YC is running aihehuo.com which is a platform for wanna-be-entrepreneurs to meet and "date". To help even more future entrepreneurs, YC leads the Startup Leadership Program SLP Shanghai chapter.  A series of video interviews where we talk about innovation, technology, and entrepreneurship in China. Jade Hsiao: Johns Hopkins, Danone, foodtech, XNode, corporate innovation
💡 China is undergoing huge growth. Exponential opportunities are very attractive to young professionals. 💡 In the US, you work at a job in a high-pressure environment, you deliver, and a lot of your passion you build outside of your job. In China, it's a creation of things like WeChat, where it totally blurs personal and professional lines. 💡 We train and invest in people, not the ideas. 💡 Innovation never yields quick results.💡 The Chinese corporations' challenge is to change some of the people's mindsets to be able to take more risks. Got educated in China, the USA, and the UK, Jade Hsiao started her career in New York City. But after a couple of years, Jade moved to China, where her passion for food led her to join Danone. Currently, as acceleration manager at XNode, Jade invests her time and efforts to drive innovation for big corporations. 🚗  This series of interviews brought to you by weHustle, a Shanghai-based platform for innovation and growth helping local and international teams succeed in China.Follow the host Marian Danko on LinkedIn.
