Importing and exporting is dealing with countries overseas and trading with businesses in those countries. And so in this podcast, in its ongoing nature and the way it’s structured, its a bit like a jigsaw puzzle. A jigsaw puzzle is an excellent analogy or a metaphor for the process of import, export and international trade. Imagine we are sitting at the kitchen table together and on the table is a 100 piece puzzle that has been haphazardly tipped out on the table. What else do we need to be able to construct the puzzle and complete it? The box. And the picture on the box. The big picture, as it were, of what it will look like when the jigsaw is completed. That’s what we’re doing right now on the podcast. And what I am doing for you, in this and following episodes, I’m painting the big picture of import export, international trade and transport. And I am describing the pieces of the puzzle for you - to be able to put the different pieces of the import export puzzle together.
