We connected with Strength Coach Alyssa Parten and did and Instagram Live on this topic of Training through an injury. Sean and Alyssa started working together in the strength and physical therapy realm to help Alyssa return to power lifting after having a baby (her son Koen) earlier this year.
Alyssa currently holds the powerlifting State records for her weight class in the Deadlift and has an incredible company, LadyBeef, in which she programs and trains people in powerlifting and strength and conditioning.

We talk about fitness for the sake of presence and how that can have a ripple effect on our relationships and our mental, spiritual, emotional, and physical aspects.

We had the pleasure of sitting down with the one and only Rebecca Blackmon.
Rebecca has a BS in Exercise and Sports Science, a Master's in Business Management and Sports Administration, she is a CSCS and CrossFit Level 1 certification. She is also a Kinetic Engineer with Masters Performance.
Rebecca has lived in the fitness and strength conditioning world since her time as a Color Guard in Alabama's Million Dollar band to coaching CrossFit and training aging adults with us at Master's Performance!
She has lots of experience and interesting insight into training the human body. We sit down with Rebecca and discuss the details of training aging adults and the challenges and knowledge we have and how to do that.

Christy is President and Lead Geriatric Care Manager of LifeCare for Seniors, Inc. She has dedicated herself and her career to helping seniors and their families. Along with her education and professional experience, Christy has also cared for members of her own family with dementia and other chronic illnesses.
In addition to her education, Christy’s experiences in the field of aging have been very diverse. They include the following: assisted living, specialty care assisted living, in-home care, community councils on aging, Alzheimer’s and aging research, long-term care insurance, elder care coordination, geriatric health education, and caregiver support groups.
