In 2010, UC Irvine launched their novel iMedEd Curriculum, which represented a complete digital reboot of their medical school curriculum. At the center of this curriculum, was the iPad - each incoming student of the Class of 2014 received their own iPad loaded with all of the course materials and digital textbooks needed to navigate the first year of medical school. The program is continuing into its second year and is expanding its scope to areas like research, clinical usage, and international work.
