Today we’re reflecting on Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. This is the sixth movie in the Harry Potter series and one of us liked it more than the other.

The Harry Potter movies get increasingly darker and the Order of the Phoenix is no exception. We loved this movie and we were so excited to review this one that we watched it immediately after recording the fourth episode. In this episode we discuss: Whether Ms. Figg might secretly be a FireSquid Luna’s similarity to Alice in Wonderland Why it’s cringeworthy to see Umbridge’s performance reviews of all the other Hogwarts professors How Harry’s lessons from the first four years play into the formation of Dumbledore’s Army Why Sirius may have set him up for it Ginny’s crush on Harry and other nods to the book How this book/movie uses Harry’s arc to reflect depression and trauma Tune in next week for Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince…one of us actually may not have enjoyed that one.

It was only after recording and seeing other reviews that we realized we had such an unpopular opinion on Disney’s latest live action adaptation.
