The lion's song made Iliana smile. As she listened, she stood straight and tall. Her lungs drank in the clean mountain air. Feeling lionlike herself, she began to prance through the snow.

The song was steady like the beating of a drum. "Could there really be a tiger?" Afraid to cry and afraid to run, Iliana watched as a huge orange tiger with black stripes stepped into the half light of the clearing. He walked towards her, moving as gracefully as a leaf carried along on a breeze, each paw touching the earth gently as he sang:
