Genesis 37: 2, 5 Joseph, being seventeen years old, was feeding the flock with his brothers...5 Now Joseph had a dream, and he told it to his brothers; and they hated him even more. 6 So he said to them, “Please hear this dream which I have dreamed: 7 There we were, binding sheaves in the field. Then behold, my sheaf arose and also stood upright; and indeed your sheaves stood all around and bowed down to my sheaf.” 8 And his brothers said to him, “Shall you indeed reign over us? Or shall you indeed have dominion over us?” So they hated him even more for his dreams and for his words. (NKJV) Joseph was 17 years old and he had a dream! The scriptures go on to tell us that his brothers hated him because of his dreams, and eventually threw him into a pit. Our dreams might sometimes be so big that they look dangerous because they threaten the status quo. Not everybody will understand your dreams and not everybody wants your dream to come to pass. Despite this we must continue to dream and discover God’s call for our lives.

Time and time again in scripture we read of people who met God! Their lives were radically transformed and they set themselves apart for their divine calling. Some of us have been worrying so long about our finances, worrying about our relationships, dreams, or our careers. We are about ready to say, “God I don‘t know how much longer I can do this. Lord, I’m on the verge of giving up”. And God will say to us, “Great! It’s about time. Now we can get something done”. The only thing we can really have control over is our attitudes. And we do have control over how much we choose to trust God. 2 Chronicles 20:17 “You will not need to fight in this battle. Position yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the Lord, who is with you, O Judah and Jerusalem!' Do not fear or be dismayed; tomorrow go out against them, for the Lord is with you." (NKJV) Mark 5:36 36 Jesus paid no attention to what they said, but told him, “Don't be afraid, only believe.” (GNT)

Romans 12:10-13 10 Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another; 11 not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord; 12 rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer 13 distributing to the needs of the saints, given to hospitality. Psalm 63:1-8 O God, you are my God; I earnestly search for you. My soul thirsts for you; my whole body longs for you in this parched and weary land where there is no water. 2 I have seen you in your sanctuary and gazed upon your power and glory. 3 Your unfailing love is better to me than life itself; how I praise you! 4 I will honor you as long as I live, lifting up my hands to you in prayer. 5 You satisfy me more than the richest of foods.
