Ever wondered what the secret is to making really good Bread? In todays episode we visit the family of bakers at Pan D´or  to hear what goes into their incredible artistry that has the whole island talking and people driving from miles around to get the last loaf.  It has been a slightly rocky road to where they are now, but one that has been full of passion, comitment, love and learnings and even after working some seriously long hours that go against the very grain of the way most people on the island live, they are loving the journey. 151: The Reset Rebel meets Hangover Guru and Ibiza chef James Knight
How can we stay sharp in 2023? Chef James Knight has some good ideas to connect hand and eye to body movement and keep the old cogs a turnin’ next year by taking up some new past times in ibiza. Away from chef life with La Grande Bouffe Ibiza he is an active soul and has tried everything from dancing flamenco & Tango and Primal monkey movement to more sporty endeavours and strength work to keep trim while being in the kitchen. He is rather partial to butter and cream and now finds novel ways to stave off the extra inches from his waist by going the extra movement Mile. He is also a hangover guru, even though he no longer drinks and gave up five years ago, he was an expert once upon a time and creates us a hangover feast on this episode that you might wish to try on New Year’s Day! 150: The Christmas Special With Love Food ibiza Creator Tess Prince
Merry Christmas and Thank you so much for listening to the last 51 episodes this year!   To be weekly for a whole year feels like an achievement and to celebrate we are perched on the steps of the Puig De Missa, 52 metres above sea level.  Puig de Missa is one of the outstanding examples of fortified churches in Ibiza and Formentera, was built in the 16th century on the ruins of a church that had collapsed following a pirate attack.   The nave inside displays a notable baroque altarpiece from the San Millán church in Segovia, brought to Ibiza by the Marquis of Lozoya in order to replace the former altarpiece, destroyed during the Spanish Civil War (1936). So it felt fitting to catch up with Tess Prince of Love Food Ibiza to Eat drink and be Merry and wish you some festive cheer to end the year, over four courses in our annual podcast picnic.  See you next Year!!   www.theresetrebel.com  Instagram @theresetrebel @lovefoodibiza

147: The Reset rebel Meets Hyacinth Mills to chat Cacao and Medicinal Mushrooms
People are waking up to the fact there's a hidden network underneath every footstep we take, that build soils, heal us and in fact, without fungi, we wouldn't have food. Humans share nearly 50 percent of our DNA with fungi, and we contract many of the same viruses too.   If we can identify the natural immunities that fungi have developed at sopme stage, we may also be able to extract them to help humans. Last month I kidnapped NYC based Hyacinth Mills at the Six Senses Alma festival after she gave a Cacao ceremony to talk to me about the medicinal powers of mushrooms and how they had healed her auto-immunie disease.  She is a fountain of knowledge about the different types and what they can do for us from Reishi to Lions Mane and left me feeling like winter is good moment to focus on our health and not leave it until something is really wrong to understand how they can help and support our health. As she also points out, we are living longer now and our health and in particular our mental health and cognitive function needs to match us in the length of life that we are set to experience. 143: The Reset Rebel Meets Womens storyteller, feminist, activist, writer, author & film maker Rebecca Frayn LIVE at word of Mouth Radio Cafe
Back in 1970, a group of women from the Womens Liberation movement stormed the stage of the Miss World Competition in front of an audience of millions on Television.  When film maker Rebecca Frayn heard this story and found out that the evidence of the court case that put the patriarchy in the dock had been destroyed she spent a decade un-earthing the story to create a film with Keira Knightly as lead alongside Gugu Mbatha Raw that told the story in 2020. Before that she created a feature film of the story of Nobel Peace prize laureate, Aung San Suu Kyi and her exile in Burma under house arrest, missing the death of her husband and giving up the right to see her children or play a part ion their lives to serve her country. Rebecca began her career almost forty years ago and has also focussed on the stories of controversial but legendary German film director and photographer Leni Riefenstahl and  unravels the true extent of her involvement with the Nazi party, A profile of the celebrated American photographer Annie Leibovitz, plus successful screen-writer  and director, Nora Ephron who was trained by her mother from an early age to cannabalise her life for material. In todays episode, you will hear how Rebecca learned to speak up and get over her fear of public speaking and who inspired her to create and cover the stories of women globally. This is our first LIVE episode recorded at WOM Radio cafe  for WOM-AN,  a night of women storytellers, spoken word artists and poetic performances at the end of my very first Womens voice activation Retreat.
