If you have never been through it, you better believe it’s going to happen someday. What’s that, you ask? Grief, Grieving, and feelings of great sadness at the hands of some traumatic event(s). It’s common that the average individual, after dealing with traumatic events, needs time to process and download the information that has been transposed. However, due to the necessity of being on the go, having to work, provide, or afraid of dealing with this alteration in life, we don’t go through the necessary process of grieving.
There’s many studies about how much time is needed for grieving, but that’s not completely accurate. Every human being is different from the next and every traumatic event doesn’t carry the same weight as another event may. What can be said though? People have to go through it. Search for the understanding for self, and if that’s too hard to do on your own, then reach out for help from therapists of your choice.
Blocking out the grief process is a slippery slope. It seems to always catch up with you someway or somehow. You want to deal with it head on and understand this new life as you know it, because you don’t want everything to come crashing down on you at once or in a situation that may not be welcoming. It’s time to go through that ISH!

Somewhere or some how, it has to be written in prehistoric records that people, animals, any animate object needs some space. The mom who has to breastfeed her child needs space. The family dog that just came from outside running two miles chasing birds needs space. But, that’s just a physical representation of space. Oftentimes we overlook the mental space we need for self and to give others.
There just have to be boundaries set in place. Maybe today you aren't in the best of mood and taking calls from unwanted callers is going to tip the scale. Maybe you’re just too nice to tell someone to back off and set necessary boundaries. Some people tend to weigh heavy on you and intrude in your space, but when is enough, enough. Not all people are being mean or have malicious intent, but some do. Some people invade your space to intentionally distract you or take take take.
Well, take this journey with us and let's dive into boundary setting, why it’s needed, when it’s needed, and how to not overstep someone else’s boundaries. Be open to listen. If you have ever been in someone’s space mentally or physically, acknowledge that and don’t be a repeat offender. Boundaries are a huge part of healing. Simple and plain.

Have you ever heard something along these lines,
“I went thru this so they have to go thru it as well”
“Toughen Up”
“I have to put you thru the same endurance that I went thru”
Let’s try to stop this outcry for help from our past trauma experiences. Let’s attempt to see this world and the progression of the future. In many cases, we have been programmed to believe that the things we went through in our past were necessary or justified because we made it out. In some instances, the things that we all experienced in the past were needed, but with knowledge of self and the past events, when do we change the narrative. Somewhere we have to step in and step up and reevaluate the trauma that was passed down to us and make it less stressful for the future to come.
It’s about building up. Brick by Brick, but you can’t forget that the foundation that you build upon must be strong. Don’t tear down your masterpiece by causing too much stress and struggle.

It’s inevitable. That time of the year again. When does it truly end? Yet alone, when does it truly begin? It honestly feels like it starts at 11:59 PM on September 30th of every year and goes until March 1st of the next year. Heck, even that’s short lived because Easter, Memorial Day, 4th of July are all knocking on the door too. Holidays and birthdays get confusing and don’t feel the same without the ones you love. But what do you do when the holidays aren’t the same without the ones you love? Do you channel that energy into something else, like work, school, creative projects, etc.? Do you overcompensate to replace the love that they used to give around holiday times? Do you shut down completely and isolate? Or do you rain on others’ parades to force your feelings on them? It’s a trying time, nevertheless. Making it through is a test year in and year out. Let’s just try to make it through the best we can. Simple enough.

It's easy to take the blame and defer it.
Maybe, you blame the teacher. Maybe, you blame the friend. Maybe, you blame anything possible just to appease your ego and not address the truth about all situations you're in. That TRUTH: You played your role in it.
Dive in to this episode with your hosts, as they embark on the topic of self-accountability. Sometimes identifying you had a role in something and holding yourself to a respectful, apologetic standard can change the trajectory of your life and others.
Yes. We recognize our part in the situation. And we hold ourselves accountable. Our Apologies. Let's Groe.

When in danger, what's your next move?
When you think Flight or Fight or Freeze, do you think animal instinct?
Well, overtime, we (humans), develop ways to respond to uncomfortable situations. Some of our responses are visible in the moment and others fester in our subconscious. Have you ever sat and wondered 'why does your voice change' in certain situations? Have you sat and wondered 'why do I isolate myself from others so often'? The answer to questions like these may be shielded in "Trauma Responses".
Look, sit down, listen, but most importantly, join your hosts on this week's episode shedding light on the notion of trauma and the effects that arise. Also, not all trauma is super dark, but the simple things can be damaging as well.
