Interview w/Robert Rosenthal
Hi Emily! Just came across your podcast as I listen to many Illini sports podcasts. I love how interesting this was and thoroughly enjoyed it. Robert is a great guy and yes, voice like velvet. So much sports experience in his head! Pure 100! Great idea for the Law Firm to give $100 for every sack in the Illini game to The Boys and Girls Club! Thanks Emily for a great podcast! Wishing you the best of luck. 😊

What a brave and courageous thing to do. Sharing your experience helps others in a way that may never be visible. Just knowing you might have helped one person who listened to Kthis podcast is a huge thing ! Jamie Thank you Jamie for sharing your story. I have a grandson with ADHD, I have seen his struggles with learning and sitting still. When my daughter got him tested, he came out of the doctors office and asked her “did they find out what is wrong with me ?” That made us sad. By the way, he’s doing great in school now. Kristen, I loved your honesty and ability to forgive. It takes a big heart and emotional maturity to get to where you are. I so recommend counseling for anybody who is struggling with any issues. I think people need a trained unbiased person to help you thru the “hard to talk about it stuff”.I’m so glad you came thru the difficulties and are even stronger than before. ❤️
Johnna. I want to thank you for talking about such difficult feelings, I think the hardest thing to do is watching someone you love struggle with this disease of addiction. I’m glad you are wise and strong enough to get professional counseling for yourself and take care of YOUR needs. Your son is lucky to have you in his life despite all the pain he has caused you and others that love him. I’m glad you have your faith to carry you thru this and I will add him to my prayers.

Refreshing!
Emily’s Journalism and Comminications background shines in the podcast formatt. We all really do “have more to say than meets the eye” and Emily is able to draw it out in a way that makes you feel like you’ve known her for a really long time. I can’t wait to give the remaining episodes a listen!

Loved hearing your story, Andrew! As a townie and recovering alcoholic, I can certainly relate to a lot of it. It’s so important for successful, respected people like you to speak out about this topic. Emily is a great host! I’m really excited to hear more episodes. Also, am I the only one who wants to hear more about taking scuba diving lessons in someone’s backyard? Lol

Courageous
Very brave of Andrew to share his battles with addiction. Love the advice his father shared with about the paths you can take in life. When alcohol and partying are glorified as fun/exciting and seemed to be the only thing to do with friends and even some family, it’s a hard thing to give up. Congratulations on recognizing what serves your family most. Look forward to hearing the next local story.

Easy to listen
I love the conversational style of this podcast. Emily is relatable and isn’t afraid to ask tough questions. The fact that she’s seeking out stories and going beyond what “meets the eye” creates connection for the listener. We all have our stories; it’s what makes us human. I can’t wait to hear more! Shout out to Andrew for being the first to bare all!
