Refreshing!
Emily’s podcast is a breath of fresh air. As a former Ultramarathon runner and now Ironman Triathlete I appreciate the insights for training for sports. But what caught my eye was the solo travel episode - which I loved. I used to ravel solo until I got re-married and now my husband loves my travel ideas. Still I travel solo as much as I can and meeting people along the way is incredible.

I love Hurdle— the podcast, the mindset, and the community. Running (and life) can feel isolating and Hurdle is one way, one part of my weekly routine, that makes me feel like my experiences, challenges, the highs and lows, are not mine alone. Emily has a wealth of knowledge herself and her guests offer expertise on things that I care about that I am certain I wouldn’t come across elsewhere. As someone who isn’t living in a big city or doesn’t have a bunch of running friends, Hurdle was a well appreciated find.

Emily rocks!
Hurdle is one of my favorite podcast! It helped me going through my first half marathon and other hurdles in life. My family is not in the same country as I am and I find hard to build new relationships but as lonely as it sound I found my “community” in the podcasts that I listen to, this one is one of those, I always learn something, find joy, hope and puts an smile on my face, thank you Emily, keep that good work going 🫶🏻

Hurdle was the first running/wellness podcast I listened to when I first started running, and even though my playlist has now grown, this podcast remains a constant companion on numerous tough long runs. I’ve learned so much about strength and overcoming hurdles not just from the diverse list of guests on the show, but from Emily herself.

I have been listening to Hurdle for years now and love the wide array of athletes, CEOs and everyone in between (see what I did there?!?). Emily asks great questions and has a way of guiding the conversation without feeling like there is an agenda. As i runner, I also love all the great running content that’s geared towards your average recreational runner. Big fan!

Hurdle has changed it’s tune as of late. It’s really moving away from its original fitness-oriented content and feels very preachy and life coach-y. If that’s your bag, you’ll probably love it. Also, how many Peloton instructors does one person need to interview?

New thought from a long time listener
I have been listening to Hurdle for a long time and love when I see guests that I follow or know of in other ways (like all the Peloton guests :)) but I realized today that no matter whether I knew the guest or not, Emily always sets up the conversation so I can relate to the person or I learn something. Admittedly I know very little about cycling, but there were so many great nuggets in Sarah Strum’s episode about career changes and other aspects of life. True, Motivational, Educational. Like listening to a good friend
I have been listening to Hurdle and following Emily for a few years now. My friends introduced me to the show when I was training for my first big race: the 2019 NYC Half Marathon. I’d been a D1 lacrosse player and played various sports all my life, but navigating fitness and nutrition on my own post-grad was harder than I’d expected. I connected with Emily’s sentiments, approaches to fitness, nutrition, overall wellness and her natural mix of professionalism, poise, and relatability. I took her advice in training and later went on to run the 2019 NYC Marathon. In the last few months as a fellow young 30-something living in the city, I’ve started listening to Hurdle every morning as I prepare to take on the day. It’s amazing how much I look forward to Emily’s interviews, guests, insights, and five-minute-Friday’s. She’s hardworking, smart, elegant, fun to listen to, and feels like a very good (motivated & motivating) friend. She always seems to know just what to say/post/inquire right when you need to hear it. I also highly recommend her as your new favorite style icon. Keep up the great work!

Motivation to be better in your fitness goals & life
I have been listening to hurdle for the last year (or two?!) during the pandemic mostly during my morning walks/runs with my dogs. I came into the pandemic as an avid runner with 2 half marathons under my belt, but after a major move & a calf injury have been struggling to get back into running. Emily and her guests inspire me to keep on keeping on even when it’s hard or I’m frustrated with how few miles I can do now compared to my peak. There truly is a little community through this podcast & I look forward to it each week to put a little extra motivation with my fitness goals. She has a great variety of guests whether it’s a peloton instructor, registered dietitian, running superheroes, or just the gems she provides - I love this podcast & you will too.
