Exceptional Resource for Passive Learning
I have listened to this podcast for years as I go about my day, in the sauna, while working out, etc… It has been an incredibly useful resource for me as I pursue knowledge in science. Thank you Huberman!

Agree, Kinda Annoying
I listened to this podcast for the first time and chose the episode on peptides as I was generally curious about all the peptides that were going to covered. It would have been great if the host actually let the guest speak, but he can’t help himself. He continually interjects, adding his own anecdotal stories that go on so long I’m surprised he recalls the initial question.

Interview dr. Seager
I love your show please interview dr seager from morovsco cold plunge. I’ve been trying for years to get my wife to try ice baths with little success. She hates being cold but if you talk about the benefits of this great tool she will listen. She loves your podcast and we both have learned so much. Thank you for the knowledge.

Cool
Solid articulation of what ive found to be otherwise complicated topics. Great podcast.

Kind of annoying
I have listened to several episodes trying to get into it and, while I found some of the guests fascinating, I’ve learned that the issue I have is with the host. He will ask a question from the well educated guest and if they say something that disagrees with what he believes he kind of dismisses it. First time I thought oh, I can see what he means. Then the next few times I thought it must just be the topics at hand. After the next several times I had to throw the towel in. What’s the point of having a guest on if he just wants to interject his opinions over their research and life’s work?

Great Podcast
In the episode, he explains how habits like sleep, sunlight exposure, and focus techniques affect the brain and overall health. What makes the podcast interesting is that it is based on real scientific research but still explained in a way that is easy to understand for most listeners. One thing I learned is how important morning sunlight is for regulating your body and mind. It can improve energy and sleep quality. I also learned how distractions can affect dopamine levels and make it harder to stay focused. The information felt practical and something I could actually apply in my daily life. I have struggled to regulate my emotions for years and fully understand how to stay focused on one feeling and not overwhelming my brain. Overall, I thought the podcast was informative and useful, especially for people interested in improving their habits and learning more about how the brain works. However, some parts can get a little technical, which might be harder to follow for some people. Still, it is a good educational podcast worth listening to.

The Galloway interview was amazing. Thank you for that.

Good
Scott Galloway’s interview was so fantastic. Great thinker and appreciate both sides of the discussion. There are times the podcast can feel kinda bro-y but as with this interview renews my interest in following the podcast more. thanks so much for a great interview.

Educational
Long time listener. I’ve really enjoyed the pod for years. Became a fan after Andrew went on JRE years ago. Have adopted some of the health diction into my routine and it’s helped However, I don’t always agree with all the guests. I don’t know how I made it through California’s son Scott Galloway. Self titled progressive, yet his aim is mentoring young men and wanting them to be assertive and take risks. Progressive California seems to extinguish this type of person. Sorry never going to convince me Scott was a good guest.

Male Roles, Obligations and Options..
Great podcast covered a lot of content necessary for encouraging a better American Society. Please continue these threads with some solutions like was discussed in this interview. I often witness what you discussed today. I believe that giving back to society is paramount in building a solid and productive culture. Mentorship, Apprenticeship and “Community Centers in every neighborhood “ providing public safe places for older adults and teens to be of service to each other, share wisdom, common sense approaches to solving common problems teens face…. Teaching goes both ways. I think Social Security should not have a cap on needing to paying into it, but should have people with huge incomes from withdrawing from it. STOP home schooling, stop Charter Schools…. Fund all public schools the same and teach the same curriculums. If wealthy parents want to add value to local education they should only be allowed to do it if donations are made to the County they live in - not by segregating students by neighborhood. Have mandatory National Education Standards and Mandatory Voting! Voting should be made available to our citizens in our Embassy in every country…. And require all citizens to vote in all House, Senate and Presidential elections. Require pay scales to be paid by job category/description not gender and make it public information. Stop Corporations from being treated like individuals - especially when donating to Political Action Committees- they only have the legal right to do business NOT to pay for political campaigns…. Not to lobby full time. We should also put in place a non-compete regulation to every political position that stops politicians from working for companies for 5 - yes FIVE years- who has had legislation “proposed or enacted” during their terms in office. This will eliminate incentives to be corrupt. All votes should be able to vote in Primaries- not just people of that party. I hope some of these ideas will helpful. Thank you for reading.

Awe
Just like with LMNT “I love all the flavors, I can’t choose just one,” it is hard to choose my favorite episodes of the Huberman show. The one about the Science of Awe was just brilliant, but pretty much every show is brilliant. One of the key reasons isn't just the fact that we're hearing from some of the world's top experts in their fields, but the conversation and the tone. It's optimistic; it's upbeat, and it is an example of people looking at what is right in the world and wanting to share it with other people. It's just such a refreshing tone to have in my life as I'm trying to make my smoothie in the morning, rather than what you might find throughout the rest of the day. I listen to this podcast because I do love the way the science is explained, but also I think that the rapport between Andrew and the guests and the tone that is struck of respect, optimism, and wanting to share what they found and love with the rest of the world is just something that makes my life a little bit better and influences me as an added piece of the culture that's shaping my impressions on a daily basis.

Amazing information and thoughtful delivery
I have been listening to this podcast for a few years and I love it even more with time. It started with me listening to the ADHD episode and coming to terms with my new diagnosis. Since then, I’ve loved all of the practical episodes on female fitness, sleep, sugar and its impacts, light therapy, but also the more esoteric episodes about finding meaning or awe. Andrew is thoughtful and friendly in his approach, making his podcast guests feel welcome and breaking down complicated science terms for us non-scientists. He also seems quite humble despite knowing so much and impacting so many people with his work. When I heard he is writing a book, I immediately without hesitation pre-ordered it, because the quality of information on his podcast is so good that a book from him can only be full of gold. Thank you so much for the work you do! I’ll continue to listen and strive to not only change my life with the information, but influence others around me to live healthier and more joyful lives.

Great podcaster, horrible interviewer.
This podcast is incredible and very well done. Great information and very helpful to my own journey of learning and growth. But, Dr. Huberman consistently interrupts guests and aggressively asserts his own speech before that of his guests, which is incredibly frustrating. Sit in the silence and listen, please.

Used to be the absolute best educational podcast
This used to be the best show out there. Every week Dr. Huberman would sit down and teach you something about the human nervous system or body. In 90 minutes you could learn more about a topic here than in months of research on your own. But something has changed. There’s no more solo episodes. Rarely does Dr. Huberman ever get deep into protocols and the mechanisms behind them anymore. Instead, it’s become yet another interview show. It used to feel like a professor sitting down with you to tell you how your brain and body work. Now, it’s listening to two people bounce a ball back and forth for 3 hours and if your lucky, there might be a single takeaway - and it’s probably something that was already explained, in greater detail and with more clarity, 2 years ago. Dr. Huberman changed my life with the episodes in years 1-2. But this isn’t the same show. There used to be real information here, but now it sounds more like a health PSA in interview format than actionable protocols and mechanisms. In one recent episode, Dr. H spent 3 hours going back and forth with another researcher and there was literally only one takeaway: meditate 5 minutes every day to reduce stress. Once upon a time, that information would have taken up maybe 2 minutes of a 90 minute episode. I write all this not to bash the current show, but because I miss the show that changed my life. I miss the insightful, excitable, and occasionally wandering professor that used to teach here.

I could not be more grateful to have run across your podcast after you were on Bill Maher’s show. I very much appreciate your mission. Thank you! Thank you for taking the time and making the effort for academics and nonacademics alike.

Love the podcast, but.
All the information that I’ve been given by you over the years has been life-changing. I’m really grateful that you decided to do this for free of charge but, you talk over your guests. Once you start talking over your guest, it’s hard for them to chime back in and say what they’re there to say. It’s like your guests are trying to be polite towards you, but you’re not being polite towards them. You don’t allow your guest to finish their statements and thoughts. I wish you would listen more to them instead of talking over them. With that being said, the content is amazing.

Profound information!
I have learned so much useful info from Huberman lab, it’s a truly amazing podcast. He relays science-backed information in a way that is easily consumable and actionable, and has world renowned experts on each episode and subject. I have gone back and listened to every single episode, in fact, I’ve listened to quite a few of the episodes more than once. I would highly recommend this podcast to anyone who is interested in health, mental health, fitness etc.

Listener
I so badly want to listen to these and do. But it’s incredible that he hosts experts from fields and can’t just ask a simple question. Without fail, he has to flex and state his own knowledge about some disparate topic before just asking a question. Then, as the patient, brilliant guests try to answer, sometimes he’ll cut them off. It’s so narcissistic. Please, just ask a question and let the guests talk ! Also please stop hosting grifter pseudoscientists alongside true scientists, please.

Respected scientist and professor
Dr. Huberman is a gifted teacher and human being. He believes in science and in God. The guests on his show are top-notch. He’s not a medical doctor so he became a specialist in supplements and lifestyle. I very much respect him and admire his work.

What are we? Isn’t that a fascinating question?
I hang on every word. This podcast explores what we are and how we can use the scientific discoveries about what we are to help us become what we might be. Every episode comes with brilliant insights and actionable advice.

Great Interview Style, Fascinating Topics
I have been listening to Huberman for years and always look forward to the unique material that’s presented. What keeps me a loyal listener, however, is that he NEVER interrupts his guests. I feel like even when a guest is seemingly hoping for a debate, he stays calm and keeps his focus on the topic. The most recent interviewee seemed to have a mainstream antagonistic approach … and is the perfect example of how much I appreciate Huberman’s tactful and responsible commitment to educating rather than winning. Even though I’m more interested in Women’s health topics I had to stop listening to Gabrielle Lyon because she doesn’t let guests finish a thought, let alone sentence. Thanks, Andrew! You’re very inspiring.

Scientists who know how to communicate!
This is a fabulous space for discussing the state of the evidence and if/how/for whom it applies in practice as well as the myriad intriguing questions that remain. The recent episode with Dr. Harden discussing genetic factors that influence behavior is a favorite of mine as a recovering molecular biologist who became a criminologist after life events made lab life studying PRION-infected brains untenable. My criminology dissertation examined the degree to which perceptions of opportunity to engage in behavior considered to be deviant/seven sins is affected by levels of self control, using a randomized sample with control group of middle school students. Meaning, if one is exhibiting low self-control types of behaviors, that person may overestimate the “objective” availability of opportunities to break the rules( e.g. a locked door doesn’t mean you can’t enter). Coupled with underdeveloped executive functioning at the middle school age, it became clear from my experiment that youth with low self control need strong adult supervision and supportive discipline to navigate the objective world until their decision-making process and biology matures in young adulthood. The added benefit of course is affection and bonding between the supportive adult ( does not have to be a parent) and youth which aids in identity development, self-efficacy, etc. Interestingly, female youth in my study were more likely to test out as low self-control on socially desirable (not deviant) behaviors, like lying about taking extra cookies from the lab space versus lying in a way that would hurt another person.

Playing play
I like your podcast but this episode on play rang hollow. Play requires completely letting go, not knowing, not defining…which is what you spent trying to do. Why not some fun exercises some uncertainty some laughing? For example as part of a writing group this morning we drew shapes and did writing to work with the shape—every turn meant a turn of thought. It became semi-stream of conscious and very out of control. It was so fun. It made me feel so light which is what play does.
