The Reality Check Podcast
Zachary Phillips
Check into reality with short talks on mental health, motivation, philosophy and politics. It’s only through the open and honest discussion of our mental health issues, past traumas, and the recovery process that we can hope to heal and reduce stigma. By sharing our stories we realise we are not alone, that there is hope, and that we can work to improve ourselves, despite our past and present issues. What I hope to do with this platform is to show that it is possible to go from barely surviving to passionately thriving. To both accept, manage and move on from the mental afflictions of the past and to embrace the future. To show that it is possible to follow your dreams, no matter your starting point in life.

No Longer Feeling Like Myself
More medication more failure. Once again I was apathetic, depressed and not feeling at all like myself, to such an extent that it felt dangerous.I am taking a break from medication whilst I wait for an appointment with a psychiatrist, as well as some test results back.Hopefully something comes from it because whilst anxiety is bad, it feels like the lesser of two evils.

Take The Damn Pill
Medication saved my life. It ‘worked’ but the implementation, support, and planning was laughably incompetent. The side effects were crippling and I didn’t have an exit plan, nor a holistic approach to wellness. This was only the start of the my terrible indoctrination into the world of therapy.15 years later, and I have the self care down pat, I meditate, exercise, write, and do the therapy. Nonetheless, I have had a significant downturn (this happens to the best of us). Thus, in consultation with competent and trusted professionals, I have decided to go back on medication. In this episode I talk about my journey to get here and what it means for the future.I am scared, but hopeful.Unleash The Poet WithinMindset CoachingHow To Get Your Sh!t Togetherinstagram.com/zacpphillips/Take The Damn Pill
