Divorce is an act of Courage
Courage is the ability to confront fear, pain, danger, uncertainty, or intimidation, despite feeling afraid. It involves taking action in the face of adversity, standing up for what is right, and persevering through difficult situations with strength and resolve. The word I think of with courage is strength. And what divorce reminded me of is that strength is often seen in hindsight when you pass through things that make you feel incredibly weak and you can't possibly see a brighter day. You're not In love, you are attached. Pt. 2
It's important to differentiate between attachment and being in love, as attachment alone may not necessarily indicate a healthy or fulfilling relationship.  Love involves a deeper emotional connection, mutual respect, and genuine care for the other person's well-being. When you feel like you have loss a sense of identity and you don't know who you are outside of being in a relationship with them is an indicator of attachment. Your identity will shift through your life, seasons, ages and experiences so don't forget that. It should evolve. But all of us know that feeling of “I  dont know who the fuck I am,” and if who you are is dependent on how someone feels about you, its because my friend, you are attached. Series: When to know its time to go. Interview with Ashley. "Im not Crazy."
Ashley's upbringing in a challenging home environment shaped her early experiences, leading her into two marriages where she exhibited a high "window of tolerance." Her story is compelling as she navigated the complexities of this relationship, gradually finding the courage to acknowledge that her husband's choices were detrimental to her young family. Despite enduring years of turmoil in two abusive marriages, Ashley persevered, ultimately becoming a therapist and life coach. In our interview, Ashley shares profound insights into resilience and determination, emphasizing the importance of not giving up. She delves into the intricacies of the nervous system and the trauma associated with not being believed when experiencing abuse. Through her experiences and wisdom, Ashley offers valuable perspectives on strength, healing, and the power of belief in one's journey towards healing and growth.
