How Great Shall Be My Joy!
How Great Shall Be My Joy!
Alan
How Great Shall Be My Joy is a weekly podcast, put out on Sunday afternoons, to help the members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints be more effective member missionaries. It includes both actual experiences and training tips on how to more effectively share the gospel with others by being an instrument in the Lord’s hands. My desire is that by listening to these podcasts, members of the Church will have more frequent, fun, and fulfilling member missionary experiences and eliminate the guilt that many members of the Church feel when member missionary work is discussed. Episode 44: Frankfurt & Facebook—Two Winners!
Send us Fan Mail How would you like to be in the top 1% of all member missionaries in the Church? I believe there’s a simple and easy way to do that using Facebook and activities that are currently going on in your ward. Five weeks ago, I started doing weekly posts on Facebook either highlighting podcast episodes or just highlighting people in our ward who are involved in our weekly Bible study class. I pay $1 a day to boost those posts. That’s only $7 in a week! But in five weeks over 5000 p...

Episode 43: “It WILL Change Your Life!” The Remarkable Conversion Story of Eli Reynolds
Send us Fan Mail Adopted. Jewish ancestry. Abandoned. Christian upbringing. Heavy drinking. Suicide attempts. No money. Had to leave home. And he’s still only 17… Then the Book of Mormon and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints came into his life—miraculously. It was a sister missionary who showed up at his door late one evening and encouraged him to continue reading the Book of Mormon that did the trick. She simply said two words: “Finish it! “ That’s all Eli Reynolds, of Ch...

Episode 42: “Just Come to Church Once!” The Conversion of Michael Vaughan
Send us Fan Mail Michael Vaughan is a simple man with a simple story. He visited 22 different churches before he joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. When I asked him to sum up what his experience had been like, he kept it very simple: “Just come to church once,” he said, “… and see how you feel.“ Michael usually sits at the sacrament table and helps bless the sacrament every week in our ward. He’s always there. And he’s happy. Enjoy this brief conversation I had with...

Last Sunday I went to church with a box of 250 of them and...

Episode 37: Joy With A Temple Open House!
Send us Fan Mail The Washington DC Temple Open House is currently going on. Yesterday, I had the opportunity to visit and share with five people the opportunity to visit our temple open house. It’s rare that that many missionary opportunities naturally surface in one day, so I made it the topic of this podcast. Whether at work, at the actual open house, or in an elevator, natural opportunities to help point others to the temple are all around us. Being involved in these opportunities b...
